Parking Light Question

Apologies if this is a duplicate - I couldn’t find anything with my attempt at a search.....

Here is my question - I have a 2019 TRD OR with the factory LED DRLs on the front. When the stalk is set to parking lights only, the DRLs are illuminated, but not the amber bulbs toward the inner side of the headlight assembly (turn signals) like you see on some trucks. Everything else works fine - no fuse issues or anything else. Rear parking lights operate normally as well, as do turn signals - front and rear. I believe this to be by design, but had a local shop tell me the front parking lights were not working correctly. Can anyone else confirm this is normal or otherwise? Greatly appreciate it!

 

That’s normal operation for a Tacoma with LED DRL. They double as parking lights. Only the SR/SR5 that lack
LED DRL turn the amber signals on dimmer with parking lights.
