Im not sure if this has been covered but I cant figure out why my parking lights wont come on when I turn the headlight switch to the first position. I have a 2007 Tacoma sport. I know its not the bulbs because when I set the alarm they flash and when my headlight are on they work. Any Ideas?

You will also notice that those lights (DTRL) will NOT come on when the parking brake is on.... Cool, eh?....

    Just bought it!
I also need to look into this. My front parking lights don't come on when I turn the switch to the first position. The rear lights will come on, but that's it. I always thought it was odd, but I bought the truck(used) in August, and I guess I figured maybe they were supposed to do that. Do you guys think I need to replace a fuse, or the light bulbs? The lights next to the grill come on when I lock or unlock the doors, but nothing happens to the outside ones.

My 07 has a similar problem. My parking lights, front and back, do not come on. All my other lights work. Checked fuses and bulbs. All is good. I've heard mentioned on other sites of fuses inside the cab but I don't see a fuse box inside my truck.

When I plug my trailer the issue carries over to the trailer. Meaning, all lights work but the parking lights do not.

I've been going crazy for three days now trouble shooting.

    Please help!

To the left of your steering column there is the little "change drawer" or storage drawer - open it, pull it out/upward off the hinge, and you'll see the other fuse panel right behind that.

I have the same problem with the lights next to the grill. They won't turn on when I turn on my headlights. DRL mod might do the fix. Note- I also have an Pioneer stereo that could b the factor to my light problem.

I just found a link on how to get DRL(daytime running lights). It's on this site. I might try that. The yellow lights next to the grill won't turn on after the aftermarket radio install. But they flash when I use the Keyless entry remote

As mentioned at the top of this thread, the amber lights immediately beside the grill are NOT parking lights - they are signal lights, and used as DRL's for truck so equipped. There is no "problem" with your truck from your description.

I'm waking this from the dead. 2006 DCSB. NEITHER the marker or parking lights function. Rear parking activate as designed. I do not have the DLRL function so that is not the issue.

It appears this is an issue others have experienced. The OCD in me is going crazy. Thanks.

ETA. Fixed! Burnt bulbs .Outside is parking/marker. Inside is turn/hazard.
Sometimes it's the easy stuff. Durka durka.

I had to search long and hard to finally find this old thread. It’s bothered me for so long that my front parking lights do not come on with the first click of my light switch, only my rear (parking) lights. It always slips my mind but I’m going to get this fixed today and was curious if many others have experienced this? If so, how did you remedy this problem and get all lights back to functioning properly? I’m crossing my fingers and hoping it’s a simple/straight forward fix similar to the other posts in this OG thread.

I assume what you are referring to are the outside marker lights (Parking Lights). If so the first step is to check the voltage at the lamp socket when it should be turned on.

Turn on the Tail Lights and check across the socket terminals with the bulbs removed. The Green wire is hot and the white and black striped wire is ground.

    Maybe this print will help:

    Both bulbs could be bad.

Aux back up lights, Bed lights, Re-located trailer plug, Good dooby, a.k.a. jumper cable mod, Heated seats, back up camera,
That happened to me once. Both went at the same time to the bulbs on the outside of the headlight. Only reason I noticed is that they are the lights that turn on with the remote start.
