Recently I got my front windows tinted to match factory on my '16. When I got it back I noticed a park on the passenger side floor (pictured). I asked the installer about it and he had no idea what it was. As I drive, now I don't know if I'm paranoid but it seems my passenger window or something is rattling and driving me crazy. Any ideas??

Off the rear view mirror? To hide the wires, maybe?

I don't think it has to do with the rear view mirror, maybe when they pulled the passenger door panel to put the tint lower something fell out?

I have had multiple vehicles tinted and they have never pulled the door panels off. Not saying that they didn’t on your ride, but it isn’t really necessary.

So, even though I don’t recognize that part I would guess they could tint your truck without removing the panel. Call them and ask.

I had what I think is the same part fall off my door when I had my windows tinted. The installer knew what it was, said they are a pain to put in but he reinstalled it. It fell out when he had the door panel off.

Can u c if someone can get u a parts blow up of the door so u can c where it belongs? The fact that they couldn’t help u is BS. They removed the door panel like u said, so they should fix it. An illustration would probably help if they tell u to buzz off.

I've tried watching youtube videos on front panel removal but can't really get a good idea. Any idea where I could find a parts illustration on the doors?

Google is your friend: “2016 Tacoma door parts”. At least it looked like it had some good leads.

They go on the very left of the driver side door and the very right of the passenger door. These kept falling off when I was taking my panels off. VERY EASY TO PUT BACK IN...if the door panels are off. Where the door pannel hooks on at the top, its like a metal lip kinda..they sit on top of that.

I would think me joining this forum just today would be a tell tale sign I've tried 'the google'. Nothing comes up on this magical google search you have bestowed upon me.

Oh, you found it - I was looking at the diagrams I linked for you and it’s shown on the 3rd column from left, second row down...

Oh well, glad you got it! Sometimes TW is much faster than Google!! :)

Hey, what did the tint cost?
