Oh man... this is perfect. He’s even closer to him than I am. It was a four hour drive for me to Tahoe from San Francisco. @Sperrunner is probably a three hour drive from This frame.

Rent a flatbed trailer from Uhaul and tow it back home.

@Sperrunner Hell you have the v6 your truck can handle a flatbed trailer.

I’ll come with you if you go pick it up. I’d offer to tow it if I didn’t have the 4 Cyl. No way I can tow a trailer up the Donner Summit.

S-runner's are rated at 4cyl level for towing, brakes are tiny

    Oh duh you’re right.

I forget it’s still a 5-lug. Well, my 5-lug did have a fifth wheel hitch at one point albeit it had electric trailer brakes.

You can probably fit that in a box tail U-Haul.

A frame swap to 6 lug is pretty easy just take your time and make sure you have all the rite parts. I did it with just basic tools and a bunch of tree rounds

I’m curious as to how the engine and transmission are held to the cab. Is that railroad tie holding both of them up?

Shit throw some steering knuckles on there and a rear axle and you can tow it home on a dolly. Far less than 3,500 pounds.

Right but you’ll only have two wheels. How are you going to strap it to the tow dolly?

    That doesn’t sound safe.

I think your best bed is flat bed trailer or U-Hail bobtail truck.
