I was just inspired by the Tonneau cover thread, and noticed a post regarding the Bed Rails being affected.

I had a tonneau on my silverado, and liked the added security it added (out of site, out of mind).

However, I can see an open bed being far more useful at times (easier access...not interrupting the bedrails).

Anyways, I go snowboarding every winter. Part of the appeal of a truck is the ability to throw your gear in the bed. I'm wondering, though, if there is a part-time solution to adding security, so that passerbys aren't tempted to jack a board (if we were to stop somewhere... like the famous New Hampshire boarder liquor stores ;) ).

I dont have a garage, so I can see installing a roll-up tonneau cover being an issue (cold canvas=hard to roll up). I don't have much storage either, so a hard-tonneau is not really an option either.

What options, if any, are there??? Perhaps a cargo net?
