Hey again - I may have mentioned I am coming from another brand platform (BMW diesels).
We use an excellent tool for hunting for specific parts for specific vehicle builds. We point newbs to it when they ask for part numbers without sufficient searching, hunting, etc. I offer the below link as example. The most handy aspect is you can even load last 7 characters of your VIN and it will start the drill down for you. Feel free to use my 335d last 7 A948901 as an example.

Is there a similar tool that Toyota guys use to get detailed break downs please?

My policy is I'd rather offer a fishing pole than give someone a fish when they lazily ask for a p/n

I have not seen a tool for Toyota parts. You can search the Toyota parts OEM in the States but Canadian ones only give a phone number to call. The parts catalogs in the States are pretty brutal for break downs though. Nothing like what you see at a dealer level. I typically Google and search images and international websites to find part numbers for items.

For example, I am piecing together all the parts I need to do an OEM E-Locker conversion on my truck... it took me a couple of searches to find the part number to the electrical pass through connector. And I found it on a Hilux parts breakdown from a website that was somewhere in Eastern Europe or even Russia. Just a random picture that turned out to match the Tacoma's breakdown. Now I can't find that page again :annoyed:

Realoem is tha bomb. One of the things I miss about my e46 wagon was how accessible parts diagrams and repair procedures were. Parts were easy to find and it was a relatively easy vehicle to work on. I used to think it was a Teutonic thing, but VW is as bad as all the others.

They have expanded views for pretty much the entire truck as far as I have seen, and part numbers on everything.

Long time ago it had diagrams but Toyota made them shut it down.

    That's a shame.
