**Parts Temporarily Unavailable** Small batch Bussmann RTMR 5relay-10fuse

Looking forward to getting this. What other components do we need to be sourcing in the meantime (battery cables, busbars, mounting hardware, etc)? I want to make sure I have everything ready to knock this out at one time.

 

Battery cables (I think I used 4ga for my install), your choice of connectors (I like Weather pack or Metri pack) to connect the bare wires to your accessories, Ground busbar if you plan to bring all grounds back to the panel (I ground mine to the frame/body at the installed location)

 

Awesome. Do you snip off generic stuff that comes with certain accessories and replace with the weather/metri pack stuff?

Yep, I'll stick to my coffee! I guess when you're cranking out bussmann boxes you gotta do it.

 

New House renovation sucks, especially when you keep finding more and more when you just want to lay down new laminate flooring.. This has been very frustrating dealing with contractors and doing as much of the work myself as I can. I'll get back to the boxes tonight, maybe I can have them ready to ship end of the week/early next week.

Another pile of snip, slip, crimp done. Looking good for being ready to ship early this week. Contractors are done with their work on the house, painters will be in for the next 3 days (hopefully I don't have to babysit them..)

 

zOMG... Schedules keep changing! Carpet was supposed to be installed next week Wednesday which was going to have it's own challenges but now it's being installed tomorrow. So now I have to bump up getting the carpet ripped up enough to get screws into joists to stop the squeaking..

I have all of the wires ready to go in the boxes, trying to go back through PMs to check that my spreadsheet is right before I start clicking wires in. Once the carpet is done I will get back on these boxes, I should be able to get them put together and boxed up for shipping Thursday or Fri.

 

To do: Finish screwing down the subfloor, pour some floor leveler, then take a break to let it dry, and put boxes together.

 

Can someone enlighten me on what does the relays do? What is it's purpose?

 

A relay allows you to control a higher amperage accessory with a low amperage wire running from the dash. Less chance of a short circuit, fire, or other catastrophic failure.
