Parts truck?

Will parts from this truck fit my 2001 double cab prerunner?

I do not know what motor it has in it... I'm more intrested in the steering rack, fenders, brakes, lights, etc... My motor is strong.

 

Actually, it is a prerunner V6.

 

I’d look for a 4WD one so you can do a 4WD swap. I swapped my PreRunner to a 4x4 for about $1,500.

 

4x4 conversion sounds like a fun project, but I don't need it. The locking diff gets me where I need to go. This one is close to home and the seller is "motivated".

 

How much does he want for the truck?

 

I dont know yet. I only wanted the doors initially and he pushed me to buy the whole truck. I don't even know of he has the title... I need to find out if most parts will fit my truck before I make an offer.

 

Well yeah, it's a first gen. 100% of those parts will fit your truck. Especially since it's the 2001-2004 model revision with the same front end and interior.

Don't need the title for a parts truck.

the bed looks like it may be worth 1000 bux unless rust is worse than I see.

Frame shot? If not, I wouldn't part it.

I'm pretty sure the frame is shot. Look at the condition of the front bumper and rockers. Hawaii, too. Ocean spray.

Alternatively, if you know a cop you can ask him to run the VIN. I asked my buddy who is a cop to see if the 1998 Tacoma I was buying with a missing title was stolen or not. He ran it through the CHP database and it wasn't stolen. Since I had no title, I just filled out a bill of sale.

 

See the seat belt tied to the front? That's a make shift tow strap... It's not running. it been sitting there for months. it's going to scrap after I strip it.

Go to your favorite U-Haul and rent a tow dolly. Unbolt the rear driveshaft so the transmission isn’t spinning.

Before you tow it, check the frame for rot. If it’s in anyway rotted you need to flatbed it. It isn’t safe

 

I would possible be interested in the bed if you get this.
