That looks great! I am in the process of getting one as well. Love the option you have for the floor jack.

Speaking of which....I have found that I much prefer my floor jack than the ever scary hi-lift. In most situations I am able to use the floor jack. You just need to lift a tire a couple of inches off the ground anyway to replace them on a trail. I think a floor jack is faster and safer than a high lift.

Thanks man.I'm very happy with it, its simple and clean. Also i was trying to keep the weight forward in bed to help CG. Yeah Hi-Lift jacks are scary as fuck. Floor jacks have come along way, the pro eagle offers a quick disconnect mount, full belly skid and extension with mount. They are worth every penny man.

I need to check that pro eagle stuff! I've been just strapping my aluminum jack from harbor freight on my bed lol. But I want to do a proper set up like you have. It looks super clean.

I agree about hi-lifts. They should be used for vehicle recovery, and that's it. Floor jacks and bottle jacks are for changing tires etc.

Tire carrier is back from Powder coat and installed. Next is bedside fiberglass work and new high flow power steering pump/reservoir to help my Hydraulic assets.

Which power pump are you going with?

I have PSC. Dude, I cannot even begin describing how big of a difference that made in my steering. Literally night and day.

This is where some guys make mistakes. They do hydro assist with the stock pump and then get frustrated with the results. Having a higher flow pump - with a good matching reservoir - is really the most important part of the puzzle.

I can turn my 40"s effortlessly. Hydro assist is really worth every penny.

You described me and my factory pump...:goingcrazy: Yeah man I read how people would get away with using the factory pump and that's why I tried. I did not really wheel my truck hard yet do to my factory pump not being able to keep up with the ram. Charlie at Power Steering Solutions in my home town set me up with my Ram, so I went back with him for a custom High Flow pump and reservoir. No one really makes a kit for My Engine, so I'm paying to have one made. Can't wait to feel the difference.

I really didn't know you were one of those guys that tried to make it work with the factory pump!

It happens to a lot of people, so you are in good company :D My buddy had so many issues with his hydro assist until he finally got an aftermarket pump. He strongly advised me to just bite the bullet and go with a an aftermarket higher flow pump from the start. I still hesitated for a while because of the added expense. At that point I really wanted to get my project done and was trying to cut corners everywhere:laughing:

It was expensive but I am really glad that I did it. You might even get better results with yours because they are helping you source a totally custom pump for your application.

Oh...another thing. You definitely want to mount the reservoir at a higher location than the pump. Some guys think it is not that important, but it really is. Kind of a PITA because you might not have room a higher mounting location. Mine ended up attached to the coilover brace that goes across the engine. It was really the only way to do it. It works well.

Yeah I wanted to buy PSC but they only make it for the 22RE. I called them and they advised not to run it on my 4.0. and with no other choices at the time we just went for it..haha Now I can give some feedback to others going the SAS life. I will say it's been a fun learning "expensive" experience, so now it's just cleaning up the loose ends. Thanks for the picture and info on mounting the reservoir high as possible. I will pass that along.:hattip:Hopefully in a few weeks I can post pictures/ results of the new HA setup.
I still have not even hooked up my front ARB yet.The Deployment life and honey do list are interfering with garage time:D

I hear you loud and clear about the fun learning expensive experience

PSC is not the only company. I just went with them because they had what I needed at the time even though they don't seem to list anything for toyotas anymore.

Funny that we have so many things similar with our projects. My front air locker is not hooked up yet either

so are u in the military? what branch?
