    I never noticed it because we always park our trucks on either side. Just a freak accident. Sounds like some other folks have some good advice after some unexpected things happened. It won’t be catching on any more doors-I guarantee!

    Plus it is plugless now

    What if you have the garage full of other stuff, and your truck sits outside 24/7?

    suppose this is a non issue for peps like me who don't have a garage to park in. I'll try to still remember this lesson in case I get a house with a garage someday.

    I know a guy that used to have a RTT on an LX470 that would just barely fit in the garage only if he lowered the vehicle with the Active Height Control (2” adjustable suspension). He forgot to do it one time and put a nice dent in the aluminum trim of the tent and also destroyed the 1x trim above the garage door. He got lucky it actually only hit mid-tent when the back wheels came up over the lip of the garage floor, not head on at the front.
    Anyway, I know that guy. I know him really really well, in fact.

    The garage door is okay. I don’t know why it didn’t fall any. And crush my truck! All I can figure is that the catch reengaged because I backed up a little to see if I ran over something.

    You don’t have to have a garage to f’up,believe me.

    damn, gotta admit I did that in the past with my other truck. Collapsed the entire garage door inward and needed a new one. Had to learn how to install garage doors since it was DIY (lol)

    But having one helps. :cookiemonster::cookiemonster:

    Couple of years ago I was messing around with the door quick release, I think I was replacing a couple of the rollers that had seized up. I get done with the maintenance, duck under the half open door, hop in the truck, and throw it in reverse to put it back in the garage without a second thought. oops.

    Between a canvas softopper and a contractor's grade aluminum door, the softopper actually won that fight. It won it without taking damage. The door on the other hand was buckled to hell. So, what do I do? I get out my rubber mallet and a 1x4 wood board and beat that sucker back into shape.

    ... I'm still haven't replaced the garage door. It looks like someone tried to straighten a coke can after running over it, but it opens and closes flawlessly at least. :anonymous::anonymous::anonymous:

    Yeah, back into the space at Dodger stadium. Then after the game, as you go to pull out but another vehicle is coming down the aisle so you cut a little more sharply to stay in your half and drag the passenger door across those damn concrete bollards that protect you from hitting a palm tree.:frusty::frusty::frusty:

    It's AMAZING what some people can do with a door skin and some paint though.

    The spring broke on my one-car garage at my first condo, as I inspected the problem I pulled the release lever mindlessly and dropped the whole garage door down like a guillotine. My 3mo was in a stroller right next to the door when it fell. Thankfully we are creatures of habit and don’t tend to put strollers, bodies, anything really halfway across a threshold. Scary moment.
