well guys I have passed 100,000 miles on firestone destination mts (265/75/16). I still have about 1/4-1/2in of tread left. im getting ready to change them out cause im ready for something new.
I had these tires on my tundra (2000) for about 45,000 miles and then I bought my Tacoma in 2010 and switched them over to get rid of the stock dunwops and since then I have put about 70,000miles on them. I know it sounds crazy that a mt tire can go that far but it has. when I first got them I read reviews online about people getting 70k out of them easily and didn't believe it.

the only problem I have now is finding a new tire I like and can trust more than these. the firestones have never let me down, no flats or issues other than getting louder with mileage. also the balancing after 100k is getting to be a pain. I was looking at some a/t tires (dynapro atms or toyo at2) and not sure which to get. I don't wheel my truck in really rough stuff but I do use the trucks offroad ability to take me places. most of everything I drive in here in ohio when im offroad is river beds, sand and mud.

if you had a mt tire last that good for you would get a mt tire again? I would like to get a tire that's not as loud but gives me traction and maybe more mpg. I haven't had any issues with the tire not performing well in the rain. the tire doesn't really care for ice, but I don't think any tire does. but this tire has handled everything I have thrown at it. I have seen chunking from people that ride rocks a lot of stuff but I haven't had this issue. suggestions?
