    Hey all! I just picked up my first Tacoma yesterday, a 2017 DCSB TRD-Sport and I'm loving it so far. However, I have a ~70 pound lab who loves to ride shotgun with me and I've noticed some minor annoyances on the Tacoma vs my previous F-150.

    In the Taco, the seat belt chime goes off when he's in the seat and I also don't see any notification that the airbag is off (so I assume it's on?). I've done some searching on Google but can't find what the minimum weight is for the passenger airbag. Is it possible it's turned off and I just don't know where to look to see that it's off?

    Additionally, is there any way to disable the seat belt chime while he's in the seat? I saw a few posts related to using the ODO button to turn it off, but some comments on their said this method doesn't work on the newer models.

    dont know about the air bag, but you could just clip seat belt in behind the seat. That would take care of the beep.

    My dealer turned off my seatbelt chime, dont know if that changes any settings with airbag tho.

    Its a dealer restricted setting in the display. They have to hook up and change it. Bring your truck in and have them change it. Also I recommend going through the back of the manual where its states which controls must be done at a dealer and have them do everything at once, they may charge you if you bring it in again

    bunch of stuff - Bro Pro style
    Try instead of shotgun, fold the rear seats down and put a rug on the seat backs and let the dog ride with his head between the seats sitting or standing. Keeps from seat clean, buddy is closer to you so he can lick you when either you or he needs some love... and safe from the air bag just in case.

    OR get a set of those seat belt clips... that are just the seat belt clip with no belt..I have 2 sets in case I loose one... they work great for when we are traveling and wife wants to un-clip and get something from the back while on the road.

    Hahahah believe it or not he's actually pretty skinny (first Lab I've ever met that doesn't like eating). He's from a hunting blood line so he's supposed to be on the bigger end as far as labs go.

    The seatbelt sensor is NOT based on weight. This is easy to test. Put your cellphone in the seat and it will trigger the alarm. It's based on static electricity, I think.

    my lab was 111 at one point, hes from a snacking and sleeping bloodline. Hes down to about 90 now and pretty good, but chubbers hates exerting energy.

    Mine rolls in the back seat on this cover.

    I also put him in this harness which connects to the child seat tethers. Heard too many stories of dogs going missing after they panicked from a car crash.
