Boot is through and through if you use the opening. The credit card key is a dream. One less thing to carry. The only draw back if any is that you have to lock the truck before you walk away.

Agreed. It was easier to fish the fused wires through. Also the boot end on the cab side ends in a cone. The holes on the cone are on the angled faces not at the ends. If you hold the cone the way it sits in the cab, you will feel a hole at the top and one at the bottom. I fished my wire through the top hole using a coat hanger.

Another tip, once you have both ends of the boot out, try and get the boot vertical and fish the coat hanger from the cab end to the door end. Then tape the wire you want to run to the end of the exposed coat hanger (tape really good) and pull the coat hanger back out and it will bring that wire through easy peasy.

@Victory huge thanks for figuring this out and doing that write up.

Put my dog in the car everyday and this is exactly what I needed!

Just got mine installed today! Love it and thanks for the write up! Super easy once you get the wires from the door to the cab. Definitely a must to pair with the Lexus key card.

Just got mine installed and going to use it for the first time today in this 95 degree heat and 100% humidity lol. I work in some swamp land that was developed into a office complex next to a river and it gets melting hot... this was a must.

Did you ever figure out how to turn off those crazy loud sounds it makes?

Half way there! Did the rears today (non smart) just dechroming last bit of chrome while I’m at it. Also looks like a real mission to feed and pass wire through the boot down the pillar to the floor trim if those who were wondering about doing the rear as smart touch too...

Just finished installing the passenger handle. Easy peasy lemon squeezie.

I thought running the wires through the booth was difficult but mine took no more a minute to feed. Lol and here I am before the install psyching myself to tackle a 2 hour job which only took an hour. Anyways, I love it! Thank you OP, I will drink a beer for you tonight.

So let me get this straight, you thought you needed a beer or two to tackle this task but ended up so easy you instead had beer to celebrate? My type of mod right here!

So one question, when you change the setting so that touching driver side unlocks all doors, does this mean one press on the fob also acts the same and unlocks all doors, or does one press on the fobs unlock still only do drivers side? Trying to keep options flexible for saftey at night in unknow areas, I would then pull the fob out and do only one press if alone.

Fob still works the same. One click is the driver door and 2 will be all doors.

But...if you install the passenger door touch handle, once you were within 3 feet of either door both doors would be able to be unlocked via touch even if you only pressed the button once.
This is an educated guess on my part as I have not installed this mod yet. Maybe someone who has done this mod can test and verify???

I wouldn't think so because you're not relying on the "handle antenna" to unlock with the fob without touching. The power lock button is not shared with the antenna. Separate circuits. If this was a how to make your passenger door power unlock (say we didn't have power doorlocks on anything but the driver) and we had tapped into the driver's power signals, then yes, you'd be right.

I found that if i dont close out of the app after each use it doesn't always like to connect. For example if i remote start then hit the home button to get out of the app when i go to use it again it wont connect right away. I try to back out of it now so it gets a fresh connect each time and it seems to have better connection speed. Could just be coincidence since I've only used it maybe 7-8 times since I've installed it...Keep forgetting i have it lol.

Done! Have had the parts for 2-3 weeks, but finally made some time today. Probably 1.5 hours but that included finding YouTube’s for removing all the panels. Oh, and in Texas heat today, the mastic goop that seals the water shield in the door panel is basically fresh taffy.

Wife probably won’t notice much because I always dig for the key before I open her door, but I’ll certainly appreciate not having to dig.

    Two thumbs up for @Victory

I got mine installed today pretty quickly. It worked once. I started putting the truck back together and decided to try one more time. It doesn't work now for some reason after I ran all my wires in their final place. I'm not sure what the hell.

Does it still work from the drivers side and not the pass side?

I am thinking either the tap may have come loose when you reassembled everything or the wire you used may have got damaged running the wires after your first test. Sometimes pulling on the wire will cause the copper to break (ask me how I know). You could check the continuity of the wire by removing the tap at the ecu, connecting both wires together and put a multimeter on the connector end at the door handle to check if you have continuity.
