    Wicked Kool !
Thanks for putting this thread together. Really simple, wonder why I didn't think of this myself ?

If anyone is contemplating this mod be for-warned that it is a lot more costly than it appears going in given the "mandatory" additional mods that go with it: sound deadening, speaker upgrade and puddle lights:spending:
Great stuff, I had a blast and really like all these upgrades. Have Fun ! :burnrubber::burnrubber:

Check out @Matt Gecko on here. He has a very affordable kit and is a great guy to work with.

I got a little different setup from SparksParts.com. they also come with footwell lights. They are tied in with the interior light circuit that fades in when you approach the truck with your smart key. Pretty cool and useful effect. Five Stars !

Check out a thread called " Puddle Lights install & Review" by a member here called "Rising Eagle" Excellente !

Hey all, it seems like all of the steps to this process have been pretty well documented (with photos and explanations) in this thread. Except for the routing of the wire from the passenger side kick panel to the driver side steering wheel. How did you get the wire under the carpet and through the center console area. Admittedly, I haven't begun the process yet, but I'm the type of guy that likes to study something to death before I attempt a project like this.

    Thanks for the help!

To get the wire behind the carpet was super easy. The carpet and pad pulls down from the top and is easy to shove the wire behind it and pull the carpet back in place. For me, there was no need to secure the wire to anything. It just sits behind the carpet about 6 to 8 inches below the top. There is no chance for the wire to come out on its own.

The carpet is just laying there, not glued down or anything so just pull it back a little from the very front under the dash and tuck the wire under.

Thanks guys! I'll be tackling this project tomorrow morning. Already have my handle connector wired up. Just need to swap, run and tap everything in the am. Wish me luck!

Good luck. Just follow the directions from Victory (OP) and you will have no problems. The hardest part for me was passing the new wire through the door boot. I used a wire coat hanger and struggled for a while (I was being careful). Try going from the footwell area into the door cavity. I struggled with fishing the wire from the door into the footwell for a long time until I finally tried it in reverse and got it through after only a few seconds. This is a great mod!!

Good job! Credit is all @Victory , it’s his mod. I just added my experience to it. Glad it worked for you! I remember how excited I was the first time I tried it on the passenger side and it worked. :bananadance:

Why did we need 2 different "terminal repair" parts ? Are they the same ?

Yes, they are the same. But you need two of them.

You can order 2 of the same part, but if you order the two different part numbers the wire colors are different helping you to make sure you wire correctly. The price is the same for both when I ordered.

    FYI, my wire snaking device:

    20180825_102102.jpg

Bamboo chop stick with a hole drilled in the end. Lace the wire through the hole and then feed it through the door boot, starting on the kick panel side. Worked like a charm, however, it may require an asian wife, who may or may not be angry with me later tonight for cutting it in half and drilling a hole through it. :angrygirl::rolleyes:

Genius. How long did it take you to fish the wire through?

    O
Once I used the chopstick... a couple minutes. The failed attempts leading up to that... 20 to 30 min.

Thanks for that.... That was the only thing that buzzed me for a bit.
Those little connectors in the holder were the bugger for me. I almost left out the holder and just slipped on the connectors bare. Thought for a second (only a second ) the different numbers was what was holding me up.

As an aside, for the guys having difficulty with the corrugated rubber boot in the door.... Pop it out and thread your wires through straight, then reinstall. Easy Peasy that !

This is a wonderfully subtle little mod that is really worthwhile.
