I'm willing to help anyone install this mod in the PNW, if anyone is interested and wants help. I'm near Portland, OR.

No offense taken. I actually intentionally used white zips for the pics so others could see them. The black washed out against the black tabs and loom and i thought it was important to show all the zip points to help others that are considering the mod.

Anyone routed the wires to the driver's side kick panel connectors?(IC3 pins 5 & 10) ( so the taps don't stand out for Stealership scrutiny?)

They can only void warranty claims if your taps can be definitively proven to affect the problematic part in the claim. However, you have a good idea to tap somewhere less obvious. Though I’m not sure how often the dealership will be looking at wiring under your steering column.

The wire taps you are looking for are probably the Posi-taps

That's the ones! Has it been determined that those are the best? I've got some t-taps, which I think are super nice, but i don't want to cut the factory wiring to use em.

@1bad2k no worries. That’s a good kit for the price. I understand keeping the same wiring color.

This came today. It’ll have to wait until it quits raining and warms up a little.

I’ve used them and will use them whenever possible. They work great and don’t take up much room.

Please don't ever use T-taps. The way they work is by cutting into the wire.

Yeah, I definitely don't want to cut into the factory wiring at all.

Adding Smart Key entry to my new 2019 Toyota Tacoma passenger door
I just purchased a 2019 Tacoma TRD. I'm going to add the smart key door handle to my truck. But, the color I selected for my truck was Barcelona Red. The smart key door handles don't come in that color. I was able to purchase a can of spray paint sold at a local auto parts, that is manufactured as a exact match for Barcelona Red. Do you think there will be any issues painting the door handle? I noticed that there is a rubber back on the inside of the handle and I was going to tape that over to prevent paint from getting on it. I'm concerned about to the line on the outside upper part of the door handle being sprayed over. I was also going to lightly sand with a fine grit sandpaper to hopefully get the paint to stick better. Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

As small as that part is, and as much as you will look at it, I would almost pay to have it professionally painted. I'm only saying that based on my opinion. I know nothing about your in home set up or real life rattle can painting experience.

The handles do come in Barcelona Red (the red listed on the first post is Barcelona red, just wasn’t using the full name)
    Part number 69210-0E080-D1
I think you would be better off with the factory paint on such a handled plastic part.
