Just wanted to verify this was the right part.

I was looking around and saw one of the sites mention this.

We want the part number that would be for the DRIVERS SIDE even though we will be installing on the passenger side.

Do you mean that's what they're asking or
Is that because they don't make a smart handle for the passenger side?
Would that mean the sensor is on the bottom? I'm sure I'm overthinking this.

Just order the part number you have listed in the first post and I should be good.

If you look at your driver's door handle, it actually has the lock sensor lines on the top and bottom. Toyota probably did this so they could be reversed.

The handles have sensors top and bottom and are the same when flipped over. They only make smart handles or not smart handles. The drivers door smart handle will install without issue on the passenger side.

My dumb ass just learned there is a sensor on the bottom. Wow, all this time I thought it was on the top only. Now I wonder if my Corolla had the same. Thanks!

If you have the @MESO puddle lights in the mirrors this passenger side smart door handle mod will light them up when approaching from the passenger side as well which is a nice bonus!

Been to busy to actually get around to installing this( and my puddles) but they are the solid connection for way less. Just make sure you tel him which colors you want in the “notes” or messages.

Who knows where to find OEM connectors? Do the connectors have part numbers on them? Would need a male and female C29 ECU connector. Then it can be plug and play. I'll see if I can source anything out.

You should ask @mesojdm. He gets OEM connectors for all his lighting projects. I have a source, too, but they're pigtails. And they're ridiculously expensive.

I doubt you'd be bugging him. Stew's a good dude. Also sure he'd be interested in this being plug and play.

It sounds like you're planning to run down the same rabbit hole @Victory went down. It doesn't work.... just trying to save you wasted time and money.

EDIT: See his first post where he explains exactly why.

I think he wants to make a harness that goes between the ecu and factory harness that he can tap instead of tapping the factory wires. Or between the drivers door harness and handle. Not a bad idea, but an extra expense.
But if your right and trying to connect to the unused pins of the ecu harness, then unfortunately you are also right in that it just won’t work without a whole lot more work and smarts than we have at least.
