Passenger Door Smart Key System

@Victory Thanks for the write up and install notes. I completed mine today without any issues and am so happy to have smart handle on the passenger side.

 

Ordered the parts for my Sport (Silver). Will install when I get my power folding mirrors, so I can do it all at one time. I might just tie into drivers doors , if this is possible.Is there a problem doing this ?

 

So solid yellow wire to green and yellow lined wire to blue?

I wish I paid attention to which was on top. I guess I could just pull the handle off quick.

 

Wire it up. If it doesn't work switch them. Ask me how I know.

Yes, 2020 has a passenger one from factory. Only took them 5 years

 

Yes...just wanted to point out that the passenger's side opens ALL doors...I did not see any available changes for this setting...

Yup, still baffles me why they did not do this on the Tacoma's from the start

 

Other than leather seats, I've pretty much covered my complaints with this truck as far as cost vs amenities.

I wonder if I can tap int other Passenger side harness ( the same harness that the "POP&LOCK" for the tailgate taps into) this would save having to run the wires all the way across. anyone know ?

 

Sorry, gotta send a wire over. You aren’t tapping into the door lock actuator like the pop n lock, you are tapping into the driver’s door handle, wiring for that isn’t on the passenger side.

Running the wire across is very easy, once you are through the door boot I think you can be on the other side in 2 minutes.

 

Agreed - that's the easiest part of the installation is running wire from one side to the other. Getting it through the boot, well ya that requires cuss words usually lol
