Thanks @Victory! The write up on this is awesome, I finally got mine done on my truck the other day and I love it. The hardest part by far was trying to fish the wire through the boot in the door.

Any here good with Techstream? I'm trying to program the Lexus key in and no luck. I've had Techstream for a while, but never used it. The software boots up and stuff. But it can't connect to the OBD dongle. Keeps saying unable to connect to VIM. I tried a couple of other dongles that I'm not sure if they'd even work, but either way they didn't.

I think there is a thread specific for the Lexus key mod, you may have the right answer there.

Installed the smart handle on the passenger door yesterday and works great. Thanks @Victory for the great write up.

    Great job Anthony!
One thing I have noticed on this install is the gap between the actual handle and the little piece to the left. It does not seats flush in comparison to the other handles. Has anyone noticed this??

I have noticed that as well after first installing the door handle. I initially thought I did something wrong.... Then upon further examination, looking the rear passenger door (which was factory and untouched), there is a bit of play in all the handles nudging them back and forth.

Got me curious, so I went out and took a look at mine. Don't really notice it unless you're looking for it.

I tried moving the smaller piece towards the handle, but it doesn't move.

    Main thing: IT WORKS!!! :bananadance:

Yeah, all three other doors are the same except for the passenger side. I noticed that immediately after putting back the new handle and started to tighten the small piece in. The tighter you screw the small piece the bigger the gap it will leave. Not sure if there is something that can fix this(?)

Thanks man, yeah I noticed it also and will be going back in this weekend to see if there is any adjustment that can be done. Also going to cover wires in door with protective loom. I have loom inside cab, but didn't have enough for the door.

I thought about the protective loom as well but didn't have it in hand at the moment as I thought I did. Are you doing the braided wire loom? What type of wires you used onyour install?

I'm going to use the 1/4" plastic split loom, may have to add more sticky mounts. I used 22g stranded wire and 20-22g posi-taps.

Was going to finally get it done tonight but my braided loom was a bit to tight for both wires. Should have some 1/4" here tomorrow. Just the new handle installed and a pile of stuff for tonight I guess. Thanks for the awesome write up @Victory

you can slip an o-ring over the capture bolt as a spacer before installing the cap to fix the gap.
