Well, if there's a huge backorder and the next wave of available connectors does not fulfill demand, then it could be worth it.

You can use female spades. Cheaper and readily available. No one will ever know but you ;)

You could probably just use the 2 wires in the parts list without the white connector for now by inserting it directly onto the terminals of the handle, then when the connector comes in, just pull them off the terminal, plug them into the connector, then plug back into the handle. This will require taking the door panel off twice, but if you don’t want to wait, this will work.

Thats if they ship it separately of course.

Just don’t forget to shrink tube them or wrap them in electrical tape to isolate them from shorting each other or better yet, preventing them from contacting the cars frame from the inside, allowing you to touch anywhere on your car from the out side to unlock haha...wait a minute...that would be kinda cool actually...

So how does the door handle sensor work? What are the blue and green wires doing? Judging by your install instructions, it doesn't matter which pin of the door handle sensor goes to blue or green? Kinda curious to see what would happen if a person did all 4 doors with the touch sensor handles. Sure its a good chunk of money, but damn that would be so convenient.

Yes it does matter which wire goes where. The top pin or wire on the passenger door handle (when viewed from inside the door panel will tap into a Green wire, the bottom wire will tap into a Blue wire. You need to use wiring that you can tell each side apart (my speaker wire one side was gold and the other silver).

No harm should be done if you cross the wires, but the door handle will not function.

Ok cool, good to know. Have you tested the wires to see what they are actually doing? I'm a long time remote start installer, which is why this makes me curious. I'll probably end up metering the blue and green wires when I get everything and install, just to see. What computer is it that you are tapping into?

Smart Access System with Push-Button Start.jpg It seems like the Certification ECU is the same one used in the Lexus IS, which has smart key sensors on both front doors. If this is the case, pins 1 and 2 on the top connector on the ECU are actually where the passengers side door handle should connect. Using these pins would mean the smart key would work like a factory installation with the correct door unlocking when approached. Here is the IS wiring diagram showing the connection.

Looks like Part# - 90980-12A30 in on back order until 5/21/18. Looks like about 4 weeks for someone to confirm. :fingerscrossed:

Now to see if that will actually work correctly. Then sourcing the correct pins to add to that plug for a nice install.

Does the IS allow you to unlock the passenger's side door only from that handle? Or does it unlock all the doors from the passenger side handle?

I don't know for sure, but if it is like my Prius you can have the drivers side door just unlock the drivers side when approached, and all doors unlock if you approach the passengers side door.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they left those pins empty only to add this feature next year or so...I mean after all I think they knew they were going to add the TSS because they molded the pre 18 TRD pro grills to be able to remove that honeycomb trap door and be replaced with the glossy garnish...let us know if it works out for you, then no fishing wires or tapping required, even simpler install!

My wife’s NX is like your Prius. When selected on the headunit, the drivers door handle only unlocks the drivers door, the other 3 door handles (pass front and both rears) unlocks all the doors.

Let us know if you decide to try it and successful or not. I thought I read in the other thread that @Victory may have researched this already, but I could be mistaken.

Where exactly are you looking, I can’t spot pins 1 and 2...can you highlight it or circle it? These?

Ahh there they are...ok I’m officially blind. Thanks dude, anyone going to try this? But this is on the ECU side right? So it would seem we would still have to fish the our wires through and find the correct crimps to pop in, unless they’re the same as the ones outlined in the OPs BOM then I would get two sets of each and just solder the leads I fished through when I get to the ECU side. Is this a correct statement? I would do it but I’m still price shopping to replace all my handles to body colored from the Limited’s chrome...

I don't plan on doing this - but it would be easy enough to try (just shove the wires from the RH handle in the connector to test) and if it does work, it would be the 'right' way to do it. You would still need to fish wire from the RH door to the ECU as I assume these wired aren't in the harness.
