Thank goodness! Excited to see this done. By far my biggest pet peeve with my truck! Hopefully it’s day enough to do. Still love the Lexus key fob mod!

I am working on a writeup here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/passenger-door-smart-key-system.545524/

Spoiler alert: we are just tapping into the drivers side which was mentioned here before as not working by a couple members, but after being frustrated trying a few different things and many wiring diagrams I decided to give it a try and it does work, though your wiring needs to be correct, and the door lock settings need to be correct on the head unit.

I started a new thread in order to clean it up and make the writeup easier to find.
@ratcityrain do you mind posting the link to the new thread in the first post?

Realizing I’m reigniting and old thread but - anyone try this on a 2021 for the rear doors? My last car had this and I miss it when I have stuff in the back (kids, dogs, etc). Thanks!

It would probably work but you could tap the passenger door wires instead of the drivers door then it will work like our Lexus.

it would be somewhere in the original thread he mentioned above.

I think I remember @Victory mentioned he tried to tap the pass side in the harness but for our older models, the wires are missing on the ECU. Maybe he can chime in.
