I'm having some pretty high heat temp in floor board on passenger side.. I have weathertech floor mats.. I've notice that the floor board is extremely wet under my floor mat.... I figured it's due to condensation from the heat of floor board and temp inside truck with A/C on... I have ordered a heat and sound insulation mat to put under my carpet... any more suggestions..? Thanks in advance

Yeah, the exhaust system runs directly below the passenger side floor board and seat.

Also verify your AC drain spout isn't plugged. If it is, condensation from the AC will will run down the inside of the cab on that side floor board. The drain spout is located on the engine side of the firewall, almost opposite of the glove box. If you are running your AC, moisture should be coming out of that drain spout.

When I first got my truck I used to keep a little soft sided cooler on the passenger floorboard to have some cold beverages on long trips. Took me about a week to realize why the thing wouldn’t hold ice for but a short while.

I've been getting this too lately... the carpet and under the floormat are wet and it seems to only correlate with the heat from the cat. AC drains fine from what I can tell and happens rain or shine.

Anyone else get pretty hot passenger floorboards? Can't tell if its related to my 420 code or just missing a heat shield, maybe just an old cat or something worse.

Floorboards can get hot, but should never be wet outside of a leak.

AC drain, heater core, door seals, windshield seals all need investigation.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Very seldom has anyone ridden on the right side of the truck.

So I have no idea though it would have to be really hot perhaps sitting in traffic in 100 degree temperatures.

I live in the south by the coast so humidity is always extremely high. The ducting always has condensation on it and the ac blows extremely cold. It’s difficult to figure out when it started but I just remember once taking a 100 mile trip in hot weather no rain and the floor was wet upon arriving to the hotel, ac drain was free of obstruction when I jammed a gun rod into it. Just the weirdest thing right now

Now that is interesting that the Ac is not pulling the humidity out of the cab. It might be cold but it will still feel damp.

I have never noticed moisture in the cab and we have very high humidity.

All the heat shields are long gone on my truck.

By wet you mean soaking wet or just damp ?

I pulled all the carpet out of the drivers side because it never dried. I was forever dragging all kinds of interesting slop.

The thing about insulation now you have moisture on the floor boards all the time.

I hope you can solve your issue.

    Good luck.

Its just damp and only under where the floormat sits with the heat from the cat. Was going to leak test the windshield with soapy water and an air hose this weekend along with the garden hose test for the cowl/seals... so we will see.

For sure check for leaks also check to make sure all the plugs in the floor are in place and tight.

Check for cracks in the firewall as well.

Where the engine harness comes through the firewall.

    Good luck!
