You prolly hit the lock out button. Hit it again and it should work. That square thing that seems to have no purpose.

If that fails to fix it

Broken wires in the drivers side from opening and closing the door maybe even the right door if that gets used often

    Time to trouble shoot

Either switch could be old and tired

Is there a specific process on how to locate and replace the switch also would you think it could be a burnt out fuse? Where can I locate the fuse box?

    Get some real time help.

If you can`t find where the circuit protection is .

I doubt your electrical skills are up to trouble shooting this problem at this time

Changing switches is pretty straight forward unplug the old switch plug the new one in.

Then that might or might not solve the issue

Can be just mechanical wear of the nylon on the switch that actually cause the contacts to engage...On my '99, from the drivers panel, I can't lower the passenger window, all else works. I cleaned everything, but the nylon legs on the passenger switch are practically worn/melted away.

The passenger door switch works just fine.

Test the voltage. See where that leads you. Inspect the switch to see if burnt contacts.

Yes, we checked contacts and switches... thanks a lot for that file "Jonny"!
My friend who's helping me is getting frustrated because the book keeps referring to the master control as having 9 pins, but mine has 8 (?).
The power mirrors and door lock button thingie on the same panel also don't work which is weird because the mirrors and windows aren't even the same switch. What do they share in common?

The window regulator motor could have gone bad. After years of use, it happens. New regulators with motors can be bought for cheap, and are easy to replace.

So your saying the window works from drivers control but the mirrors and door lock do not, from drivers controls. Correct? Oh you have a newer truck then I thought. here's the 2000 model info.

Oh thank you! The 1st one you sent seemed pretty good, pretty accurate... it led us to the integration relay (going at it as I type) which seems to be the common denominator.
But nothing works on the driver/master control panel (not locks, windows or mirrors) & windows don't work on passenger either..The only thing that does work is passenger side lock. But my FOB still locks it fine.
Thank you for the great pdf's! Where do you get them?

You checked all the fuses? Even the ones outside in the relay box?

The fuses in the panel and under the hood, yes... but not the 30 amp fusable link thingie (can't remember what its called) one that feeds the main window relay.. that's what we are hunting now...

Maybe what you just sent will have it. You have been MOST HELPFUL, THANK YOU!

gottaco, try this to test the motor:

With the window at the midway point, gently press down on the window. If you notice it start to retract back into the door panel, that means your motor could be going bad. My driver window had the same symptoms as you, and when we opened up the motor to look at it all, the plastic teeth were beginning to break off and would get stuck until the force of me pulling up on the window helped it to continue the rotation.
