Subscribed, my '12 DCLB does this too.. I would speak with the service manager about your problem, how many times you've been to his location and told what. Tell him your not happy with the service his dealer provides, and you want the number to the corporate office. I bet he elevates the seriousness of your issue before you call corporate.

Wow.. This sounds like a TSB in the making if someone can figure out exactly where it's coming from. :D

Mine is definately the seat-back. It rattles back and forth on bad roads. I suspect it it the lay-flat mechanism.

It is not the headrest, like others may experience. I cannot see how the headrest can be loose.

Yeah.. I guess if I couldn't get anywhere with Toyota on it, I would start taking it apart to investigate and hopefully solve it myself. Hopefully they come through for those of you with this problem...

Mine rattles like crazy too (while driving and when I shake the seat manually). I have the lay flat seat as well. Dealer also said this is normal.

Mine does not have the lay flat seat, but the seat back rattled a lot
until i repositioned the seat that one time as i said earlier.

Now that i think of it, i repositioned the seat to put my Okole's on
and must have left the seat in the same position...the rattle
started sometime after i put the seat covers on.

No rattles since i moved the seat a little further forward
and on various types of road surfaces.

11 with all the same problems. Dealership said it was normal. They said that there are some sacrifices you have to make with a Tacoma, rattling seats, speakers that buzz, door panels that shake from stereo bass, and crappy interior wear. Oh well I can live with it I guess. But this truck will be a piece of shit at 100,000 miles if I already have these issues at 10,000!

I have a 12 AC with the same issue. I find myself holding it while driving to stop the noise. Mine started after about a month of ownership I also havw WO covers and that does not help.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

The phone number for Toyota Corporate is 800-331-4331.

I am going to call on Monday and explain my situation.
If everyone who has a similar problem makes a similar complaint, perhaps Toyota might look into the issue.

Probably wishful thinking, and I'm probably going to find a solution myself when I install my Katzkins. Worth a shot, though.

Seems there are 2 different issues here. One, is the seat back rattling. Two would be the whole seat shaking violently which is what I'm experiencing. I'm gonna tinker with it today & post my findings.

I've lifted the seat covers and checked the hinge mechanism but could find no point where the upper and lower part of the seat are "bolted" together.

I'm interested in seeing what you come up with.
Please do share what you find.

    Thanks!

Ever take a look at your passenger seat?

All I did was look at it, I think I'll get to the bottom of this on Friday. I'm just gonna unbolt the whole damn seat and see if they missed a bolt that needs torquing.

I just came back from Montreal and had the pleasure of riding in a Toyota Camry taxi, and guess what...the passenger seat was wobbling just like my Tacoma! It was a new Camry too. So I'm starting to think that this is a Toyota issue, not a Tacoma issue. It makes me feel a little bit better in one sense but a little bit worse in another, know what I mean?

Both front seats rattle I believe its the headrests inside the seat. This is from new. Took it into my dealer and all they said its normal. Kind of BS to me. Sent an email to corporate about it no email back yet.

I actually thought they had done away with the lay-flat seat in the 2012 DC...? I guess it's just an option now? Mine doesn't have it, and at this time I haven't noticed any vibration, certainly not like that in the video a few posts back.

My old 2005 SR5 did have the lay-flat seat (maybe I'm missing something, but I could never figure out when the option would really be useful???), and I never noticed this problem on that truck either though.
