The passenger seat shakes and makes a loud noise every time I hit a large bump or pot hole. Being that I bought this truck for off roading I expect things to rattle and shake, but this is just obnoxious. I originally thought it was the doors but after tightening those up the sound is still present. I do believe it’s either in the slide rails or the connection between the back rest and the actual seat.
I have already tightened the 4 bolts that hold the entire seat down, at that point I took the entire seat out and tried to find the issue, unsuccessfully.
    My questions are:
    Does/has anyone have/had a similar issue?
How do I tighten the two parts of the seat?
If it is the slide rails, how would I fix them or where would be the best place to find a replacement?

I realize these are kind of weird question, but I would greatly appreciate any feedback!

There are two slide bolts under the front of the seat. Just scoot your seat back and you can see them. The other two are behind the seat. You have to pop of a small plastic piece above the rail on each side. Not my photos

Definitely search on here, I've seen posts where they tighten something in the recline mechanism maybe that eliminates it.

Also, the headrests can make some serious noise. Take it out and jostle (yea, I said jostle o_O ) the seat and see if it still does it.

Yea I did try removing the head rest that didn’t seem to be it. It does make a noise but not the one I’m currently tracking down.

On my 12 the passenger seat bounces around a lot and is noisy. From what I’ve read there is not a solution yet. Keep us posted PLEASE

Interesting that others are having this same problem.

My X-Runner does this, always has.
I just assumed it was due to the previous owner having a heavy passenger or the seat having been in/out a couple of times. Bought the truck used so...

I’m gonna be focusing on getting this fixed over the next few weeks on my days off. I’ll let y’all know if I figure it out.

I use my passenger seat as a paint shaker. I pick up my rattle cans or gallon paint cans and by the time I'm home they're ready to use

But seriously. It is annoying how much the seat shakes. Tightening the bolts did nothing. Luckily I'm mostly deaf and if it's making any noise I can't hear it over the tires/radio

While the customtacos.com solution is accurate, that mechanism is very loose. It appears to be something else.

Mine does the same.I just reclined the seat and fastened the seat belt.It helped somewhat.
