My passenger seat back rest shakes against the center console lid on bumpy roads. This irritates me. I have had the entire console off when installing a short shift kit; perhaps I biased the console towards the passenger seat upon re-install.

Anyone out there have this issue?

My ‘21 with leather does it too, drives me nuts. Both against the console and the hinge itself rattles. Stuffing a towel between the seat back and the console fixes it for now.

In my experience, when a passenger's teeth start chattering it will radiate through the truck and cause intense vibration. Drives me nuts! I have noticed this phenomenon when driving high up on a hillside made of shale or cruising on a two-track narrowed down to a one-track because of a 5-foot leaking beaver dam built alongside it.

Personally, I find teeth chattering distasteful and uncouth. When I mention this to my wife (passenger) I can tell she isn't listening. When her normally brown skin turns pale white and her eyes are the size of Ice Breakers canisters she becomes, annoyingly so, incommunicado.

Best to remind yourself that no one is perfect.

Mine rattles also when I adjust it and no one is sitting in it. Whenever I adjust the seat I give it a smack in the back and it locks in place and no more rattling. It seems when sliding it back and forth it does not fully lock into place and the smack on the lower part in the back locks it in and solves the issue for me.

I should add, no problem when I have a passenger in the seat. Only happens when driving alone.

    On Saturday I will:
    1. Loosen the passenger seat rail and push them away from the center console.
    2. Loosen and re-tighten the center console (and vault) away from the passenger seatback.
    3. Take a test drive with my puppy.

Some felt between the seat, and the console is your only hope...

I have leather seats too. I jammed a towel between the seat & console and had a nice drive home last night & again this morning. Now I'm thinking I just need the right towel!

I dealt with this. Seat position is key, it rattles more for me when it’s close to the dash. I have brown leather seats so I bought some brown felt stick on pads from a hardware store, applied them onto the seats at the run spots near the console. Problem solved and you really can’t see them.

Same rattle with no passenger. I also have leather seats but that really shouldn't matter. I tightened the seat bolts, shoved a towel between the console and seat and that stopped the rattle in the city. I was in the mountains yesterday and hitting wash boards and rattling/shaking driving me nuts. The noise almost seems by the seatbelt and lower portion of the seat. Annoying that's for sure on a 2021 OR!

When i did my seat covers last year i also installed one of those console covers. They do fit super tight, and i like the padding that mine has underneath.

I had the passenger seat most of the way forward, back rest nearly vertical with my little dog seat carrier thing for the past few days. With dog or without... No rattle noise! My adult son sat there last night; seat slid back all the way, back rest at 60°-70°. Seat shook like crazy driving to work this morning :annoyed:
