Thats what im wondering...Honda uses that same design ,but the passenger side is solid where the lock cylinder goes in..

Thanks much. I’ll need to do some exploring. It would be great if all I needed was to slide in a lock cylinder.

Yes. Easiest add. I'd substitute the 3M for posi-taps, that's my preference...

The end cap piece with the key hole is easy. Those are interchangeable from side to side. In fact the whole outer assembly is. The issue you will run into might be the internal stuff. You shouldn’t have to drill anything though.

If you swapped the outer end cap I wonder if there is a spot to run the rod that’ll unlock the door. Might need to check some parts diagrams.

I'm guessing here, but since none of the 3rd Gens have a key slot on the front passenger door. All door version would be the same...occluded.

I’ll definitely check that out. If I remove the plug and outside handle cap I could probably slide a screw driver in there to see if the lock actuator has has the receiving hole and if it responds to turning it. Of course that all depends on if there is a hole in the metal door skin. If all that exists, then it would just require a door lock cylinder.

Exactly Big question is if the internal door lock actuator will accept a cylinder rod. Worth some exploring.

Perhaps it is set up for right hand drive applications? That would be cool. One can only hope.

The driver's side power lock assembly has the key cylinder integrated.

In other words, is it possible that everything with the exception of the door lock cylinder and cap exists on the passenger side given this truck is sold in other countries where the driver enters on the right hand side. Then all I need is the lock cylinder and plastic cap. Wishful thinking maybe but worth some investigating.

I haven't seen a Right-Hand drive Tacoma. A Hilux is made in both right or left steering.

    Maybe from this:
    upload_2023-4-5_14-39-38.jpg
    To this:
    upload_2023-4-5_14-39-52.jpg

IK2 has a few empty slots,
    upload_2023-4-5_14-55-0.jpg
both missing wires after the IK2 would run to the Main Body ECU connector M6.

    Another highly probable $olution:
    upload_2023-4-5_15-4-26.jpg
    or
    upload_2023-4-5_15-10-10.jpg
Adding the missing Door Control Receiver and programing some FOBs.

So I did some exploring this evening. The passenger door itself is fully ready to accept a door lock cylinder and the door handle end cap. Unfortunately the internal door lock actuator on the passenger side has no place to accept the lock cylinder rod. Back to the drawing board.

Thanks much. I’m toying around with the idea of the N2 Design remote entry and remote start. Don’t really care about remote start but the lack of fob entry makes me a little crazy
