    Well gents,

I finally got my first set of damage to my truck (beyond minor scratches from going off road from brush and trees and what not). While backing out of my parking garage this morning I slammed my passenger side mirror into a concrete pillar and it exploded into a couple of pieces.

Fortunately no glass breakage or mounting damage, just the back and under piece cover came off, and it cracked the clear LED part for the blinker. The motor still works as well as the blinker LED.

2016 TRD OR AC Inferno Orange.

I am sad panda, but I was able to piece it back together so as to avoid rain getting in it and it looking like crap.

The point of this thread is to ask, before I go the ZOMG full retard dealer route, if anyone has a source on paint matched replacement mirror and enclosure / knowledge on how to replace it? It doesn't look hideous but that clear LED area being cracked is going to bug the hell out of me after a while and may eventually cause a failure if water were to get in there.

    Thanks in advance.

I had similar, but more extensive damage on my White TRD Sport backing into my garage.. The side mirror is a breeze to replace.. take off the inner door panel, unplug the mirror, remove the three bolts and it's off.

The mirror (whole unit) and the color matched bit are separate items. Dealer only at this point. My mirror was right at $300, but I was able to reuse the colored cover.

Same, you can order from a local dealer or from a dealer online, they will be able to order you the correct mirror based on your VIN. It will be two pieces, the mirror assembly and paint matched cover. Very easy to install (may want to get some extra door clips while you're getting things from dealer in case any break while taking door panel off.

Also, don't worry about water, the assembly connection with the door is pretty much water tight and is made to let water into the mirror and drain.

Also, if you haven't ever removed your door panel, watch some youtube videos. Most are for second gens, but are pretty much the same, just with the two screws in slightly different places.

One of those is a 2015 and the other is crazy expensive. Unfortunately online parts are usually just listed as part numbers so it's not easily searchable.

Call your local dealer parts department, it will come to about $311 for both the assembly and cover. It sounds like you'll need both. If your local dealer doesn't have it, there are a few online dealers that can help you (I got mine from Brian Bowman at Camelback Toyota online).

    Happy to help.
