They said it was at the speaker cover on passenger side dash

I'm actually still at dealership and when I get my truck I will ask them again to clarify waiting on balance and rotation of tires now

Strange, I don't ever recall seeing a cap like that on the passenger side. I've pulled the A pillar and speaker cover area apart several times already. Probably fell in there as a loose item from the mexican assembly line.

I wish I knew, I don't remember off the top of my head. Sorry, but I can look next time I get in the truck.

They way they talked it was something that snapped off in there but didn't say much else the dash has never been messed with or taken apart and don't never sit anything up there on it

Plug used to cover the hole where the light sensor goes if it had automatic headlights!

So this is something that was left under the dash during production?
Just curious because I have some annoying dash rattle by my A pillar/speaker. Mine is only bad when it's below 45 degrees though so probably won't hear it again for ~5 months. Fortunately I'll still be under warranty.

I would take truck to dealer and see if they can find that same piece, I tried to stand it all I could but when you drive highway almost everyday it gets annoying lol

But that doesn't mean you have automatic headlights. From the looks of the sensor slot, there is not a sensor, the plug is likely the cap for it.

this was a problem with our hilux's. Found to be the air plenium - the black plastic thing outside the bottom of the windscreen behind the wipers. cold weather and speed would give a rattle/vibrate
I just wedged some things in to stop mine but others got it replaced under warranty.
