    Hey everybody I'm new, of course. I own a 1999 Tacoma. Love it. Daily commuter. Everyone wants to buy it. HELL NO! Mother in law has 2012 Tacoma, I wanna trade her.
    She told me that on her 2012 all of a sudden the passenger side window stopped working. I have checked all wires,all plugs, all grounds, all connectors. PLEASE!!!! Help me. I can not find the relay to save my life. I'm trying to save mom some $.

    Is the window lock activated? (hope so, easy 'fix')

    Is there voltage to/at the motor?

    If not you have to work backwards until you find where there is voltage.

    Yes sir I have full voltage up to the p.w. motor. No ground. I've gone through the boot and into the kick panel. I found no breaks. I haven't been able to find the elusive relay.

    Have tried the switches on the respective doors and the 2 on the driver door? (All 4) beyond that, I am no hope.

    @Jimmyh

    Are these switched grounds?

    Are there 'circuit breakers' in the fuse box that could fail like some vehicles have?

    Looking @ everything under the hood in the box, I can't see any relays or breakers.

    Is the motor done? Try constant power, see what happens? Or maybe constant ground since there is power to motor

    I put my power probe on both power wires, added power, and the fuse blew.

    No they do not use switched grounds if you overlook the fact that the ground for ALL Windows is provided by the drivers side control panel via the master window lockout push button. If this ground is lost none of the windows will operate. If there is power at the window motor when a switch is depressed then the power side is working and there is an issue with the motor itself or a grounding open circuit. Just note that the voltage at the motor will switch wires depending on if you are pressing the up or down switch DC Motor.

    I don't have any specific 99 model prints.... So I am going by the 2005 prints and how Toyota Commonly wires the windows which is pretty common.

    The OP responded in a new thread that he found the issue to be the lockout switch and thanked you all for your help:

    " brinthepup1(op)
    Thank yall for taking the time to read my concern and helping me like yall did. After some thinking, I realized that I asked mom if she had pushed the button on the drivers side and never checked myself. After checking today, I found the lock switch to be half cocked in the locked position. Now everything works like it's supposed to. Again thank you all for responding."
