For those interested in having the passenger's door unlock in unison of the driver's (one push on FOB)
Works for folks who have done the smart handle to the passenger's side and those who haven't.

The door lock system has a relay just for the driver's unlock function (first press of FOB), for the remaining doors there is a relay that handles them. For locking (all doors n tailgate PopNLock "if installed") another relay, specifically for lock.

What we do here is to remove the wire (green) that comes form J17 (junction) to IK1 slot 4. You could cut and tape, I don't often advise that. It needs to be removed so the rest of the doors do not unlock also.
The mod just places the passenger's unlock feature in parallel with the driver's.
Then you get @KTJO 4x4 's lock n unlock tap harness and mate pins 10@IC1 to pin 4@IK1, this mating wire needs to be routed from driver's side to passenger's side. Disconnect the respective connectors at each kick panel, all this done with the negative terminal on the battery removed. Once done, reconnect and test. Then button up everything.
You now have both front doors able to unlock on first press or on approach to vehicle if you have that feature. ("Smart key")

Why not just set the option from the headunit? You can configure one button press to unlock all doors from the head unit. I have it configured for one button press on remote unlock all doors, and smart handle just unlock drivers door.

I haven’t bothered with the passenger smart handle due to the way it needs to be configured, (I don’t like smart handle unlock all doors). are you overcoming something in that mod?

You get only the front doors opened.
It's meant for the Smart Handle to passenger's side, I mean why have the smart handle on passenger's door when it doesn't open and so not all doors open. And for folks that don't have the smart key or the smart handle mode, if they want it.

For those with the tailgate pop-n-lock and the tailgate open we have this:

Not on my Tacoma. One button press opens all doors and obviously tailgate. If configured that way from the headunit.

Because most smart handles work when the key is in very close proximity to just that the door, walk up to the passenger door with smart key, and just passenger door opens. I don’t want to be close to the drivers door and have someone be able to open the passenger door (or visa versa).

But back to what this can be used for. I didn’t realize some people don’t get the headunit option, so this for them?. But If you have smart passenger side, you must have smart drivers side which means you get the config option in the head unit doesn’t it?

And if you don't use the Head Unit to change that particular setting then you can do this. I get the unlocking all doors in a iffy environment.

Smart Passenger's is an add-on mod. There's no BECU wiring for it.

Pulling reserve handle and main n reserve open...seriously.
If one desires to have passenger's door unlock at same time as driver's with added smart handle on passenger's side without selecting in the head unit to open all doors at approach or first press of FOB.
If no Smart Key or added smart handle on passenger's side door, you also unlock driver's n passenger's door with first press of FOB.
All this without rear passenger doors unlocking...

For those wondering what this will do:
Essentially he is changing the settings from your 2 choices of choice 1: drivers door unlock only or choice 2: all 4 doors unlock
To 2 choices, choice 1: drivers and passengers doors unlock or choice 2: all 4 doors unlock.
If you want to do the passenger door smart handle mod you need to tie into the drivers handle so previously you would need to make all 4 doors unlock when using the smart handle. He has changed it through wiring so that you can have just the driver and passenger doors unlock with the handle and keep the backseat doors locked.

This would make the 2 front doors unlock at the same time no matter what setting is selected on the head unit, the head until doesn’t give you this option, it only gives you drivers door only or all 4 doors.

It’s a big deal for some that might not want all four doors to unlock just because they are unlocking the front doors. I know when I first completed the Passenger Smart Handle Mod there was a lot of people complaining about having to switch their head-unit to having all the doors unlock because the only way to have that mod work was to have the setting set to that function. This changes that. Which in turn, allows you to keep your head-unit set at drivers Side Unlock with one click and then the rest with two clicks. Which is what I use to have mine set at all the time until I installed this mod. Now I can go back to that. I absolutely hate having to have all my doors unlock all the time. Why? When it’s just me 75% of the time. Why do I need to have all the doors unlock and have the wear and tear on all those Actuators. I already had to have my rear drivers side passenger one replaced. Also, when you have it set for all to unlock, there goes your tailgate too for some. There’s even more wear and tear on another Actuator that’s not needed. There are a lot of reasons. Talk about safety. I’m alone and I’m getting in my truck, being able to switch my truck back to driver side only allows me to only have the front doors open now and I don’t have to worry about all the doors being unlock for the whole world to get in with me every time I get in my truck. However, I do not lose the amazing feature of the smart handle which I absolutely love and has come in key so many times. So again, so many reasons for this wiring mod. But...for you, it might be a waste and that’s ok. Everyone uses their truck differently. That’s what is so great!
