It's not your Ebay fee. Ebay will charge you, too, but they invoice you at the end of each month for all listing, final value, etc. fees you incurred during the month. I normally pay Ebay immediately after receiving cash in PayPal, but it's definitely two separate fees.

Go back and check the post again... I've edited to show PayPal's fees.

So if my bank is in the USA do they still charge a fee to withdraw?

No. The only fees they charge for people w/ domestic banks are fees for receiving money in PayPal, depending on the source of the money received. If you received $100 in PayPal (after fees) and want to move it into your BoA or Wachovia or Wells Fargo checking account, you'll get $100 in your account. No fee removed.

Sorry if this is redundant but I'm planning a $2000 group buy so I want to make sure I have it straight before i see 2% gone or something and you are very knowledgeable with paypal. Could I have TW members paypal me the money then I withdraw into Bank of America for free?

Yes... BUT... every time a TW member sends you money, PayPal is going to take it's little bite UNLESS that TW member is paying using money held in PayPal.

When I use paypal, I always fund w/ my checking account (i.e., PayPal takes the money from my Wachovia account and sends it to the person's paypal account). So, the people that receive money from me are always hit w/ a little fee.

You can try to require people to use PayPal money, but that might delay payment as they will need to transfer money into PayPal from their bank, THEN send the money to your PayPal account.

To answer your question, though, once the money is in your PayPal account, there is no additional fee for moving into your checking account.

and to make matters worse, I think paypal charges more if the funds come from a credit card.

They do. Not only is the fee higher for funds from a CC, but they FORCE you to have a business/premier account if you receive more than 5 CC funds... and the business/premier account charges for money received even from PayPal balances. DOUBLE WHAMMY!

yeah... but you don't really have to 'transfer' the funds. When you sign up for PayPal you 'link' it to your checking account. You also add a CC or another checking/savings account as a 'backup funding source.'

When you go to pay somebody, they ask how you would like to fund the transaction. The default will be your checking account (or whatever account you used when you originally established the PayPal account). All you have to do is pay the person through PayPal and they'll get the money from your checking account for you.

That is... unless you're trying to ease the pain of the person receiving the money, in which case you should transfer it to your paypal account first, then pay him/her.

Of course, if the person receiving the money has (or has been forced to have) a Business/Premier account, then they'll get hit w/ a fee even for receiving PayPal funds.

I just realized that all of this is starting to make it sound like I don't like PayPal. I really do... it's the easiest way to transfer money to a person you don't know. They're just a business and have to make their money.
