So I am currently deployed until May and have the funds to pay my truck off right now. I have to move to Germany in July and hear it's ridiculous to bring this large of a vehicle with me, so she must go.

I imagine the best option for me is to pay off the remander of the loan with Toyota(12k), then I get the title sent to the wife for safe keeping. When I get home in May I'll then have the title in hand to sell the truck straight out instead of paying off the loan with the new owner's money and waiting on a title.... do ya'll see any downfalls or potential issues with this plan?

BTW, I will be coming back to a Tacoma (1st gen) when I move back to the states!

Keep it. There are people who have them in germany. The only thing that sucks about germany is their land use laws. and when it snows, you will be happy to have it

There's actually a few TW members deployed in Germany who took their trucks. Why not ask what headaches they may or may not have had. Maybe you don't have to sell it..?..

ya i've already decided to sell it. I have enough friends that have been there and say it's alot easier to just sell her and just buy a 1st gen or an older 2nd gen when i get back.

I spent a couple years in Germany, and the only real problem you would have is in the interior of larger cities. There were plenty of service members who brought over larger vehicles than a tacoma and it wasn't uncommon to see H2's, Expeditions, full size trucks ect. It sounds like your mind is pretty much made up, but it you happened to have a change of heart, it's certaintly doable.

What a lot of people do, and I did too, is just buy a beater and run with that for a couple of years. Then when you return to the states, you'll have saved up plenty of money for the vehicle of your choice.

Where are you getting stationed at if you don't mind saying?
