    0% down. 5% through CU
    $450/60 months
    $80/month full coverage through AllState.

PS - If you have a lien on the vehicle then typically you have to get lender approval before going to a 1k deductible. I know because I already tried :)

Should be paid off already but I am about to close on a house. Usually I like to dump 20% on the principal periodically to pay it off way early.

It's difficult to compare insurance premiums w/o knowing coverage amounts. You could have fewer driving incidents, but higher levels of coverage and different deductibles, and therefor you'd pay more.

I pay just $43/month for my AllState coverage. (We pay $87/month combined for my truck and my wife's 2006 Lexus RX330.)

    My coverage levels/deductibles are:
    $100k/300k bodily injury
    $100k property
    Full Collision and Comprehensive
    $1k Deductible

yup she was 4 miles old when I got her and now I got about 46xx now. I got mine right off the truck! My sales person knew that some new ones came in over the weekend and we ventured to look and see what came in. Once we were able to find the Taco's on the way way far back lot, I knew what one I wanted. I was the first person to look at her, she just got done the inspections and was ready to go on the books, but was not yet. That was 5 month ago. Now I'm getting ready to do my first oil change. Pensoil platnum, Fram extra duty filter, and Redline syn' gear oil for the Diff's and tranfercase. Oh ya and all the crush washers to go with it! I'll let ya all know if switching away from dino oil made my mpgs go higher. Still impressed with the fact I have been getting over 21mpg average. Really enjoying my ride, alot better then the Ranger I had.

    And 5 year loan

DO NOT use a Fram Filter!! I'm not trying to offend you and tell you what you think you know is wrong, but, um, it is! I may not be the most seasoned veteran on these forums but I am approaching almost a year and a half of checking this site EVERY DAY at least once if not ten times (don't let my post count make you think otherwise). I've seen the threads that hash it out back and forth on which oil filter is superior. I can tell you that the general consensus is not 100% toward one, but OEM Toyota filters and Mobil 1 filters are the #1 pick for us taco lovers.

I'm only wasting my time telling you this because I've been in the love-struck-by-my-truck stage you're in now, and can see that you are shooting for premium products for your baby.

Fram does NOT fall into that category.

    Do not do this.

    Please.

Side Note: I love how this thread is just being used for whatever the fuck. Probably my favorite thread in a couple months actually.

Also key is AGE, CREDIT SCORE, and LOCATION.
Being older with no accidents gets better premiums than older with accidents, and younger with a clean record- Older= about 25 in most places.
Your credit score can show insurance professionals your "risk tolerance" in regard to financial matters- so they will charge more if you are risky. If you are in a city it's more likely you'll be in an accident than if you are in the middle of no where...and will cost more.

Good point. My credit score is really high, and my premiums dropped a lot when I turned 25. They dropped again when I got married, too. I guess they think I have more to live for now, so I'll drive more carefully.

im paying $1508 every SIX months for my truck and 93 corolla. its high probably because i have 3 points on my license due to some speeding tickets i got 2 years ago. being 21 that kinda hurts your insurance rates

back to truck payments...if im wanting to put some extra money down on my loan, should i put it all towards principal or should i pay a few months payments ahead?

I went in looking to buy, but ended up leasing...

3 years $390/month, and the residual at the end of the lease is somewhere around $14k, which I intend to buy...

in the long run it keeps my payments a lot lower...

Put it all towards principal. If you just pay a few ahead, then stop paying for those few months, you're not doing yourself any favors b/c you'll end up paying it off in the same time. If you pay extra on the principal one month and continue making your regular payments the next, you'll end up paying it off early.

    Principal, FTW.

I hope so, too... but from my understanding, you get a big drop when you either turn 25 or get married. If you marry at 27, you don't get a big drop... if you marry at 23, you don't get another big drop when you turn 25.

I don't know that for a fact, but that was my experience (turned 25, then married at 26).

Pay it towards principal. You end up getting the truck for cheaper this way. I am pretty sure this is how it works, if you put it down, your loan will accumulate interest on a smaller amount, thus interest charges will build less, and you'll save out on paying all of the extra interest you would have incurred by making your normal payments and allowing the larger sum to gain. Dunno if that made sense, but it did in my head, LOL.
