On my way to work the other day in a heavy snow/wet rain and the PCA OFF light came on. I was confused on this and started checking buttons to make sure I hadn't accidentally shut it off but it was still on. I was like "Oh, crap. Now I have to take my truck to the dealership."

As another truck passed me I noticed the front was covered with wet snow/ice. Then I remembered reading where the sensor is for the PCA and it all made sense. I checked when I got to work and sure enough the front was covered in ice where the radar is sent out for PCA.

It pays to read the manual to avoid looking like a fool.

That's interesting ... In the Northern climates It's hard enough for everyone (read lazy) clean off their Vehicle tops... There are even laws to that effect. Now we have the Sensors AND the computers will log their issues. So ...IF a person gets in an accident that could have been prevented if the sensors were cleaned .... it my be Lawyer time ... Thanks for the tip !

Pre collision avoidance (pca) part of the TSS

My truck does the same thing when ice gets built up on the sensor. It also disables your radar cruise control.
