Kit? You talking about the seat heaters?

They're the ones that came with my Wet Okoles. But they look just like any of the other seat heaters you'd get on Amazon or Ebay.

Why not just wire in an extra 12v plug in the center console or something

Because I personally don't like wires sitting around loosely. And I'd have to wire in 2 extra 12v plugs if I wanted to keep all the ones at the dash open. Both seat heaters need a plug the way they are currently wired.

I'd rather be able to just flip a switch instead of having to find the cable, make sure it's not hung on something under the seat, plug it in, then find the control box that's probably stuck between the seat and center console haha

Just the regular D2S bulbs. I'll get some Osram bulbs when I do another retrofit

Do osram bulbs make that big of a difference? I may be putting in some D2s next. I'd be looking at getting upgraded bulbs and ballasts though. Is it worth it to spend extra on those? I feel like I should just go to the FXr at that point...

    Nope, I'll wait haha
I've been told they do, we'll see...

FXR's are a completely different beast compared to D2S 3.0's....

Yeah I know they're way more difficult to install but I've also read they are pretty damn amazing in the light output department.

My friend has the d2s in is FJ and compared to mine they are just...blah. I do have slightly upgraded bulbs but mine are still way brighter.

    Not worth the cutting imo...

The D2S 3.0's are supposed to be as bright as the FXR's now.

    I'll upgrade eventually...

Yeah the cutting is definitely a turn off. If it was definitely that much better I think they'd be a no brainer. I just spent an hour on HID planet reading about the d2s 3.0 vs fxr lol. They do look pretty damn close. Fxr looks a bit wider but not as intense of a hotspot.

Yeah, I'm kind of annoyed about my D2S 2.0's and amber halos....

The shroud centric rings didn't fit my shrouds and projectors like they were supposed to, so I had to epoxy them together. That lasted one wheeling trip...

Then idividual LEDs on my halos started going on, so now I have random spots of missing LEDs....

Can't wait to re-do them at some point.

My friends halos went out on his FJ too. Lasted about 6 months :/ TRS replaced them which was good. But a hassle to deal with. That's why I chose to not go with the halos. I wanted to only open the headlights once...

My assemblies are oxidizing so badly since I did my retro. They were crystal clear until i did it. Now the passenger side is all milky so I want to get new ones with the new d2s eventually. I've got a few headlight restoration kits but they seem to work for a month or two and then it comes back worse lol.

I have a feeling I'll do halos again. Mainly because next time I retrofit I'll actually have an oven to use. I refuse to do a retrofit with a heat gun again haha

My assemblies still look good 10 months later. Seems that the best way to prevent it is to wet sand, then clear coat. Should last a long time.

Haha. I used an oven to open mine but a head gun to seal them back up. Worked like a charm.

Took an hour per headlight to open the aftermarket headlights w/black sealant gunk using a heat gun....

Ah maybe the aftermarket goop was the difference. I hear some are hard to open.

Speaking of this all...I wonder what I could sell my current setup for. Oem assemblies with a mini H1 retro? 250-300 reasonable? That's what I paid for the retros alone. And OEM assemblies aren't cheap...

Yeah, that stuff sucked haha going to do the one piece headlights next go around. We'll see what those have.

Hmm, not sure... I'd start off at $300 and see what you can get I guess :notsure:

Nobody's going to want to buy mine

Don't you lose all up/down adjustment with the one piece lights? Seems like that'd be a bad idea with retros.

Looks like you still have some adjustment. I'll ask jberry and see what he says about his.
