Probably going to attempt to take apart my stock shackles and main eye bolts next weekend to see what will have to be replaced/cut off...

IMO, I would just replace all of it. Such a PITA to remove that stuff, might as well put some new hardware in while you have it apart.

Haha I'll take that as a compliment. Especially coming from you! :D

Yeah, I'm looking at getting some stock length grease-able shackles and grease-able main eye bolts. And new u-bolts of course.

Hell yeah, I remember talking with you about expos a month or two ago... on pulling the trigger

I'd do that, I ended up messing up one of the shackle pins when installing my expos-- luckily I had my Dad's Tacoma to drive up to the hardware store and get another one

Yeah, might as well just make it easy as possible and just buy a few cutoff wheels for my drill and cut all of the bolts off and just throw on the new leafs and shackles. Shouldn't take too long I would think...

Replacing the front is the easy part lol. What are you going with up front? The leaf springs on my truck did not want to come off...damn front eye bolts...

The front was pretty much impossible for me! Haha Spent two weekends trying to get it installed and was only able to get one side in. The driver side castle nut wouldn't budge for me. I couldn't even get the passenger side in without getting some stranger to help me by using a crowbar to keep the lower control arm down far enough.

I'm keeping what I have up front. I just need new leafs right now because my stock ones with an add-a-leaf are sagging terribly. I plan to get Icon resies with aftermarket uca's eventually though.

This is why I plan to just buy a few cut-off wheels for my drill and just cut all of the bolts since I'm replacing it all anyways.

You could always do like I did and cut the front spring hangers off all together :p

Still need to do some grinding...

Yeah, being that mine is a mostly Northern truck. I'm not even going to waste my time to attempt to save any of it.

My only worry is that I'll cut the old stuff off and not be able to get the new stuff installed. Then I'll be screwed....

I'd switch out your stock u-bolts for some new ones. It is highly recommended that you never re-use them. I installed new u-bolts just when putting on the add-a-leaf. And will probably put new ones on again when I install the expos.

Haha no need for that. Expos will do exactly what I need.

It only took like thirty minutes each side for the front but I did have help lol.

Ah okay, I didn't know if you were doing an upgrade of you're whole suspension or something (I looked on my phone real quick ).

The driver's side is the hardest side with the gas tank in the way. The bushings fused to the bolts and didn't want to come out on both sides for me. :frusty:

Yeah, my main issues were the getting the cotter pin out of the castle nut and not having enough weight behind me to get the coils/shocks jammed in between the mounts...

Exactly why I plan to just cut everything off. Currently trying to find somebody that has a little know-how that could help me install...
