OK, there has been a lot of discussion about the PCS system, especially having to do with those of us who have swapped out our grills for TRD Pro grills. And ok, some dealers will recalibrate with a swapped grill, some won't, and others may but they make you sign a waiver. We have heard all of this. BUT, what I want to know, is WHAT are the calibrations for the PCS system, for the various Tacomas, specifically, since it is obvious that there is a different calibration for Tacomas with TRD Pro grills, and those without, or, since there is a difference for those with PCS systems and TSS sensors that are behind the Toyota oval logo, and those with TSS sensors that are mounted at the bottom of the grill, under the TOYOTA name [TRD Pro] on the grill, what I want to know is WHAT are the calibration settings? Is this something that one can do by accessing the computer through the OBDII connection with a USB-to-OBDII adaptor and software? Or, has anyone actually just GONE to the dealer and told them to recalibrate their swapped grill tacoma to the calibrations on a TRD Pro grill tacoma, and just have been willing to PAY for it? I can't imagine they would say no to that!
What I am finding is that on my 2019 Tacoma TRD Sport, after swapping the grill to a TRD Pro version, not all the time, but every once in a while and seemingly for no reason, the PCS OFF light will light up on the instrument panel, and even though the PCS system says it is "on" when looking at the menu, the light says it is OFF. The only way to get the light to go off is to turn off the ignition and then restart the vehicle. Then, it might run for days without the light coming on for no reason again. This was happening daily in the days after I swapped grills, but it seemed to have gone away for a couple of weeks, before the light started coming on again this past weekend. I thought the PCS system had "learned" its new height at the bottom of the grill as opposed to being behind the oval toyota logo, and I am not sure that it hasn't. Anyway, this is the impetus behind my questions above. Thanks guys!
