Camera went on after the sensor was disabled. I'm 100% sure the sensor is deactivated since I paid Toyota to do it, and I got the warning lights afterwards telling me it was deactivated. I didn't remove the light bar, that is just a cover from Rigid.

I drove it for a year with this custom sensor mount & grill and everything worked perfectly, cruise control, etc. As I stated, the only issues I had was when I would take it off road and if conditions were dusty (usually following behind other rigs), I would get a PCS sensor dirty message. Manually cleaning it by blowing it with some compressed air and wiping it with a microfiber cloth would clear it up. Now whether my mods exacerbated the situation is up for debate. Probably yes, but who knows for sure. Either way its a moot point since I decided to disable it so as to not have to clean the sensor every time it got dirty.

My post had a misplaced word that I believe led you to think I was doubting the deactivation, I was not. Corrected post.

Maybe all that Southern California radioactive dust is the problem! I've had an accumulation of snow/slush/ice cause mine not to work, but never dust. It was so bad that when I first got the vehicle, I considered putting a port off my windshield washer fluid pump to douse the stock emblem with fluid to get rid of that frozen stuff. I may still do this if I ever venture back into the frozen stuff.

No worries about the misplaced word

You might be on to something with the radioactive dust, lots of crazies out here :)

Indeed I have seen numerous complaints here about aftermarket tails... Most of them have been about hyperflashing (what resistors are for) or for non-related things like moisture leakage/them quickly hazing in the sun, etc.
You specifically said it was the resistance though (the LEDs don't draw enough current and to add resistors), which I fail to see how that affects the PCS (the lights would just hyperflash).

I would agree an electrical short / corroded tail light wiring could potentially cause a PCS issue, although again it seems that should show up as a hard fault in the system (not it simply saying it can't be reprogrammed (as OP put it) because the sensor is out of range / too high).

I suspect the dealer just didn't want to mess with it (maybe going along a similar line as when they were disabling the PCS on everyone's lifted/modified truck and forcing owners to sign waivers during the sensor recall campaign 5-6 years ago) and is why I suggested going to another dealer or shop.

I just got off the phone with intelligent adas calibrations in Addison Illinois and according to him, had the sensor never been unplugged - this never would have started. (A, B) because it was - the dash will always be lit until I get it calibrated. Because the truck is level and not at stock rake, and the sensor was unplugged - without having the truck at a stock rake even if I shim it properly - the light will stay on without being plugged into techstream. I need to learn how to adjust my ride hight rings in the front on my bilsteins (5100) to reintroduce the rake, get it calibrated, then can raise it back up, level it back out, start shimming and find the sweet spot.

I’m not going to completely disagree, but I have had my grill totally removed over thousands of miles both with no front lift and a 3/4” spacer for an 1-1/2” front lift and all of mine works just fine. My sensor has been unplugged, removed and replugged in repeatedly with no harm. Both with lift and without. Currently without a lift.

An earlier question I was trying to get at was if the dealer had “entered” calibration mode and not finished calibration - that I believe could place the unit into suspension. You could not answer that quandary.

I just helped a friend install a lift on his 2021. We got the PCS warning, along with an ABS warning and a VSC warning.

All the warnings were tied to a faulty wheel speed sensor harness. After replacing the harness ($80, 10 minutes of work),

I used a bi-directional OBD-II reader to reset the PCS warning. I don’t think you can simply disconnect the battery and reconnect it to remove these errors.

@Jwexler1227 Do you have an ABS warning? Who installed your lift?

I have doubts your dealership tried to do anything. They sound like they couldn’t be bothered. You should try taking it to another dealer.

My point is that it being non-magnetic does not mean it’s not steel.

Why would anybody go through the expense of stainless steel and then paint it black? True, some SS is non-magnetic.

I would have no answer to that question unfortunately - even if I had known to ask I doubt they would have told me.

What is a bidirectional obdii versus an obd reader with an erase button?

My lift was done at a shop, why would the wheel speed sensor harness break? Where is it, got a pic so I can check mine?

Most likely broke because he and his friend did a careless job. A hazard of doing your own work when you have little experience. Not saying this is bad, I have experienced it many times.

I think it's the same as the ABS wire. Easy to see in the lower area of your front suspension. My truck was recently giving me weird ABS/PCS warnings intermittently and it was just a loose connector.
