    Hey!

Just bought a 2014 Tacoma with the 4.0 w/ 96k miles. I am going through all the normal maintenance, and when changing the spark plugs I noticed something odd... the PCV / Crankcase tube connecting to the front of the intake was disconnected. The tube looks like it was intentionally removed since the retaining clip was halfway down the tube. Is there any reason that someone would have done this? Accidental / Intentional?

Not likely, most likely someone forgot to re-connect.

Thanks! I also found what appears to be a near original cabin air filter. The door to the filter was also down.

Regarding the PCV/Breather hose, since its also a new vehicle (to me), can someone also tell me everything will be ok?

With that hose disconnected there should have been a huge leak of unmetered air. It should have had a loud hissing sound, ran like crap, and had a check engine light lit.

I've owned it for 3 weeks and put 500 miles on it. It ran fine, but I have no calibration with this car yet.

Fuel trims at idle woulda been quite high, but under load the unmetered air wouldnt of been too bad. Hissing sound would of been on the other side (post throttle body)

Glad you found it OP. more than likely the PO removed the intake to do some work and forgot to hook it back up.
