Hi guys here to hopefully help people out with a strange issue that happened to me this week. I’ve recently noticed a extremely rough idle i knew my pcv valve was on its way out and had one on order. Well investigating my pcv I decided to check my plugs on pulling spark plug boots I noticed a large amount of oil in the spark plug wells on cylinder #2,3,4. I removed the valve cover to examine what are brand new donut gaskets which are in perfect condition. What I’m thinking is that my pcv failed and was stuck closed and I had crank case pressure pushing oil in between the gasket and the well filling them almost full. If anyone has any input I’d be happy to hear it only posting this to save people from making any shotgun repairs and wasting time and money.

Perhaps you got one too many 100k on that $6 PCV valve?

I'm surprised the grommet didn't crumble and blow out.
