PCV Valve on 5VZ-fe V6

    The purpose of the PCV valve is to exhaust pressures built up within the crankcase of an engine. Replace this valve at least every 100K miles, because if it stops up this internal pressure will find its way out elsewhere...mainly the valve cover gaskets.
