Pcv valve replacement interval?

    Blackout , Tonneau, bed mat, bike rack, all weather mats (OEM), LED low beams, Blue LED cabin lights, more stuff to come.
    I changed mine recently. The old one wasn't too bad at 54k. I installed the new one, cleaned and put the old one on the shelf for the next 50k.

    If you were to replace the PCV valve, is thread locker absolutely necessary? Was thinking of using teflon tape.

    I don’t use either. They don’t use either from the factory.

    One wrap of white Teflon won’t hurt though.

    Thank you so much for responding! I saw several different opinions from antiseize to thread lock red or blue. My gut was saying Teflon tape, but makes me feel better hearing that from a tech. Again thank you.

    How many valve issues with the cylinder heads on these trucks are you seeing? Considering buying the platinum warranty to cover this issue and the timing cover leak down the road.

    2018 and 2019 were prevalent.

    Haven’t seen anything over 2020 with major issues, maybe one had its engine out.

    If you’re hard on the truck I’d endorse extended care. If it’s going to be babied I would say pass.
