Never done this kinda install but pretty mechanically inclined, fast learner and above average handy. So with an experienced helper I think its a feasible install, from what I hear

We can have your stuff done by early afternoon if we get an early start. Head down the street to NTB and get your alignment and then hit the road.

Wish I could make it to at least see what everyone is up to, but I'll be Spring Breaking it too.

I just did my 5100s this last Friday by myself, so it's not too much of a problem at all. I did take the coil overs to a shop for the shock switch though, which worked out nicely since I installed the rears while they were swapping the shocks. I posted my experience in the 5100 install sticky in the Suspension board.

For the meet, if anyone has a tie rod end puller (see last page of 5100 install sticky), that would make pulling the spindle a bit easier than the "beat the crap out of it" method, which does work though.

As far as a spring compressor, I hate having to depend on someone/someplace else to complete a job, but after doing a bit of research on using the $50 Macpherson spring compressors (here and a few other boards), I decided the $48 I paid was well worth it to me.

I did find a $150 hydraulic compressor (referenced in the install sticky) that looked much better, but couldn't quite fork over the $$$ for what hopefully will be a one-time thing, or at least once every bunch of years.

Are you really going to compress them on the spot? I have Chris's (Canadian Bacon) old struts in my garage.. you are welcome to use them to take to a shop and pre-install the 5100's if you want. I am a bit of a drive from you though..

I'm pretty interersted, I leave that monday morn at 2 a.m. for tennessee, but I would still like to attend and help out. So I'll probably be there for the first part. I would like to get done the fog light mod for the 1st gens, and deck plate. I need to change my belts and tranny fluid but I will probably do that all before then. If i don't get the mods done I don't really care, I'll just be of as much assistance as possible, I'm still a noob haha
