I realize the lack of power in the tacoma and have been looking at various options. So far it looks like the "PEDAL COMMANDEER" is the best bang for the buck. I discussed it with Toyota service and this is the reply I got.

    >>"I've seen several issues with it. If your looking for the best bang for your buck upgrade when it comes to driveability, do some research on the Overland Tailor Tune, and you can reach out too the local tuner Matt Cook, and he can get you taken care of. Fixes the trans shifting erratically, and helps with throttle response. Dyno tuning shows 37-40+ horse power gains."<<

Could anyone offer any thoughts ? would you recommend the Pedal Commander ?

Pedal Commander will shorten the time between pressing the throttle and getting an engine response. It won't actually add any power. It's a good option if your throttle response seems slow or sluggish.

If you want more power, you need a turbo. Not sure that a tune will actually add power, but I could be wrong. It mainly changes shifting points and throttle response.

Welcome to TW! I’ve heard positive things about both options, but would take the 37-40HP gain with a large grain of salt. Good luck!!

No, get the OTT tune. Haven't done my new Taco yet, but will when I pull it out of winter storage and sell the 4runner. The PC is like a mask by covering up reality, the tune changes it to what it should be. Never heard a single person say " I wish I had not done the tune and am putting it back to stock".

If you have a 4 cyl, you're stuck. I have a four and a Sprint Booster. I have had it for around two years. I have had no problems with it. I like it very much and would certainly do it again.
