You're* ;). While we're on the topic of intelligence...

What does my intelligence (accomplished USAF nurse with a BSN degree by the way) have anything to do with my trucks performance?

I have an access port. Will trade for a pedal commander...or not.

ARB is offering a safari snorkel, there's lift options, sliders, bumpers, lockers, bed racks, etc. so, I don't know where your argument is in that.

Pretty much what I expected. It's nothing more than an amplifier. TBW utilizes what's called the Hall effect. Introduce a magnetic field onto a coil and it induces a voltage change. By moving the pedal you're inducing magnetic change on a coil, this change is thereby fed to the ECU and as a result the change is then sent to the step motor that actuates the throttle valve. By amplifying the change in voltage from the pedal to the ECU you're in affect changing the way the ECU adjusts the step motor on the throttle valve. It's the same thing as an amplifier for your speakers

almost 10 years old....and a review of the sprint booster not the pedal commander. it is more detailed and contains data. but it states it is about the "feel".

can you let us know why you are so against this product? did you purchase one and did it damage your tacoma?

I've never bought one and I don't think I will. Essentially all these are are signal amplifiers and I doubt it will damage anyone's vehicle since you're not resetting the ECU or flashing it. This is basically telling the ECU your foot is further down on the pedal than it actually is.

I have an access port for my Subaru and I can load fuel maps (COTS) or take it to a tuner and have a custom map loaded to suit the modifications I put on it. This reflashes the ECU and changes the amount of fuel applied by the injectors based on responses from the MAF and O2 sensor, in my case a pedal commander or sprint booster would net very negligible results hence why I won't buy one.

I'll also say that these products net negligible gains in the way of performance since it's only changes throttle input voltages to the ECU and and perceived improvement would be via the driver and the proverbial butt dyno.

@Mush Mouse I am genuinely curious as to why you are sticking around in this thread. Any particular reason?

I agree but the same could be said about the access port. At least this thing can be unplugged and put back to stock without the dealership knowing. Access port flashes the ECU and the dealership can tell when the ECU is flashed/reset. With the access port I can functionally read exactly what the engine is doing and how it reacts. It's got a slew of things it reads.

I'd bet he's trying to save people $300 or $260 with the discount code.

I could understand sticking around a page or two to preach his case, but at this point he just seems to be here to bully people and call them idiots for liking this.

I tend to agree with him. Until Toyota unlocks the ECU and allows aftermarket tuning of their ECU's all anyone is really buying is snake oil. Unregulated add on equipment that gives the perception of an performance gain.

so your point is that it is expensive? lol....going to buy new tires, because i made a mistake with 265s...now that to me is well not a
Ripoff, but $$$$ out of my pocket.

I LIKE the "FEEL" the PC product provides, have an amp pushing my speakers so I am ok with an amp on my pedal.

Oh I completely agree there. I'd never buy one either, but if people want to spend the money even after being warned otherwise, that's on them.

Well I hope my SS get's it for a Subaru Legacy instead of a Tacoma, otherwise they're really bad at stalking.
