Whatever you say. I tried turning it off again on my way home and absolutely hated the "dead spot" between 10% and 40% throttle input. Turned it back on and it felt like an old style throttle body. To each his own.

Wait a minute.... you have had a Pedal Commander for 6 years? The 2016 tacoma has only been around for 2 years. It has only been out for the 2016 for 6 months. Something sounds fishy.

I had to use a PC (on the 1st setting "City") just to get the 3.5 to "feel" like my old 4.0. I up to sport to get it to feel like my old 3.4 (throttle response-wise/ tip-in wise).

Again, this makes the truck drive better PART THROTTLE, no difference FULL THROTTLE.

It doesn't get rid of the dead spot. Remember it doesn't change the stock programing. It does effectively shorten the pedal travel so the dead spot is much smaller and you just don't notice it.
These pedal boxes have been around a very long time. They even have ones that work on mechanical styles. I have had them on my last 2 tacomas before this one, plus I have it on my daily driver car. I agree they make it feel much better I never disputed that. The guy asked if they make the truck faster 0-60 which it does not.

That's whats debatable. This whole debate has happened 3 or 4 times already in this thread. I have watched the video over and over again, and I see the throttle plate opening much faster with the PC than without, so to me, simply pushing the pedal faster is not the same as the PC.

I don't believe you will accelerate faster, but I believe that throttle response is greatly improved, and that the factory slow throttle plate reaction time, for mpg emissions ect, is removed so that it is more similar to throttle by cable not by wire.

There is no debate about it. Here it is right on there website. Also note they carefully choose words saying "throttle plate opens sooner in pedal travel" instead of "faster". Which is exactly what I have been saying all along. It is snake oil.

For those who actually own this, can I ask where you mounted your Pedal Commander? I just bought one yesterday but trying to find the best place to mount the controller. I am not sure if the cable is long enough, but would like to mount it in the center console pocket next to the e-brake.

    What do you think?

I guess it all depends on what you want out of it.

This unit give you 4 different options on how fast/slow you want the flap on the throttle to open. I felt that the OE pedal felt too touchy, especially when off-roading and needed a light pedal touch. In the ECO mode, I can be super liberal with the pedal and the throttle will slowly open, so I don't need to be light on my foot.

When in sport and sport+, it feels like it wants to do a burnout every time I press the pedal. You have more control over how the pedal feels, you can tweak it and tune it how you drive and where you are driving it to.

snake oil means it's selling an outright lie, an empty claim, that the performance alteration claims are false.

are you claiming that the obvious and not-at-all-subtle changes to my throttle response don't actually exist and my throttle acts the same without it? is that really what you're trying to say? i don't understand who you are trying to convince... of what. seriously.

20% tint on all windows, Deckplate mod, satoshi-ish grille, blacked out and/or body matched emblems, rattle canned rims, red l.e.d. interior lights, bilstein 5100's and OME 881 coils , deaver 8 leaf pack, 1.5" lift shackle, alpine sound system, 55w HID lightforce 140 and 170 fogs
You'll notice a difference when you first put it on because the controller will give you more of your throttle at a given position. But over time your right foot will readjust to the new feeling and it'll be back to normal. When you take it off your truck will feel sluggish because your foot is now trained to push a shorter distance for a given amount of throttle.

If you want more throttle, push the pedal further. Or spend $300 to have a little box do the same thing for you.

i, for one, do not get used to mashing my throttle like an angry monkey. it helps my throttle modulation everyday the same way it did day one of install. it's not subtle if you're using normal settings on this truck. seems obvious you're another who's never driven one in a 3rd gen Tacoma. talk is cheap.

Your engine performs the same way regardless of what is installed on the pedal. You can install the little box and have it give more throttle for a given position, or you can push the throttle further. Either way you will get the same result because that is the only thing capable of the little black box.

No, I am claiming that the box does not add performance as the well worded advertising leads you to believe. I'm not trying to convince anyone. I'm correcting improper statements made about performance, acceleration, etc.

Actually, yes I'm saying that your throttle response doesn't change. Your throttle PEDAL response changes. Close, but not the same. I think that is what you meant though.
