Has anybody had any issues with Sprint Booster? I've had them in all my cars and love them, just wondering whats better about the pedal commander.

i bought the booster and it didn't fit the harness, so i got the Commander. i was real happy with it until i got the OV tune, which I'm even happier with.

That's odd.... I just looked up reviews and people seem to have it in their trucks. Sounds like it was misboxed or something ....
I'm not feeling the size of the pedal commander .... don't really see an advantage .

Unless of course the Sprint Booster doesn't fit lol. I'm trying to see what the difference is.....

    Hey Guys,

I ended up having to send my unit in for warranty. Had a small issue and they ended up sending me a new one. Long story short, in the time I've had the PC unit uninstalled, I realized I'm just not as into the more responsive pedal. I drive my 4 year around in the backseat and we have a 2nd one due next week. As fun as this device is, it's just not for me in my old-fart age. If anyone wants a deal on a BNIB unit, please PM me.

finally got to wheel since I put mine in...its ok for delay on the street...BUT off road in tight stuff in the econ mode it was great! nice to have throttle control to such a great degree....makes inching round them pesky trees and rocks so much more fun

Installed a Pedal Commander on my 3rd gen this week. It has completely changed the throttle response and throttle control on my truck. The throttle is more linear and performs precisely the way that it should given a reasonable amount of throttle input. I've seen a lot of speculation as to how the PC operates, and most just claim that it's a signal amplifier, but I don't believe this to be the case. If that were true, the non-linear nature of the factory throttle mapping, along with the surging and hunting, would also be amplified, neither or which occur with PC installed. Coupled with TSB 62-18, this has made me completely satisfied with the throttle, engine, and transmission characteristics of my truck.

the tsb is what provided you linearity. the pc has curves, some more linear than others, but yes it's a signal modulator and nothing more... but that doesn't always mean amplification. they have eco programs on there as well which evidently do not amplify the factory state across the range, unless you can define reduction as negative amplification which many do.

the pc compensated well for the ugly factory tune, but what it amplified (in my case) was the non-linear mess Toyota provided us with.. it seems that once throttle effectively pushes past a certain threshold the motor smooths out its power delivery and final output is more linear. the non-linear tune doesn't change from the PC, so the motor is still seeing the choppy mess as the PC doesn't, and cannot, see it... the throttle mapping, etc.

i spent months on a pc to fix this factory shit before OV came out with their tune. once we got the Alpha version the pc was obsolete and i never looked back (I'm in a MT truck which kinda mattered in the early days of the Alpha). but i still have it and it seriously was a great thing for me. had i not found that before the OV tune showed, i was likely going to sell away the truck due to the horrible driving experience from the factory tune. i have a great appreciation for that thing.

I've had the TSB for months, and the difference between the linear throttle output between it and PC are still night and day. PC has nothing to do with the factory tune; it provides a more direct link to the throttle position sensor. I won't speculate as to the technology found inside the PC (I will respond to PMs if anyone is interested), but it's not as simple as a mere signal modulator.

Just installed this today. I no longer have to be knee deep in the pedal. Difference is night & day with City, Sport, Sport+. I didn't try Eco mode yet, but don't care to. Wish I'd gotten this sooner.

I agree. I purchased two weeks ago and this was the best Mod yet. Much more responsive! I set it after playing with all modes to sport level 4. I purchased the Bluetooth version and put the device down by my right foot on the panel. The device is completely hidden. You can adjust through the app on the phone.

I use this with the shiftsense pro V2. Great combo!

Has anyone noticed when you run the pc in no mode so there is no light truck actually drives perfect compared to eco or city? Is that even a made because it's a way better then if I unplug and dont use at all.

How long/how many miles has it been installed? It may be the result of the transmission 'learning' your new driving habits.

Installed PC about 2 weeks ago, loved it initially. Truck stalled on highway this AM and is in limp mode. Looking for way to get it out of limp mode. First thing I did is take PC out. Right before this happened I noticed surging in engine at stops when foot was on brake. Anyone else? I am broke down so any info on resetting limp mode would be helpful. Hard to go through forum in iphone on side of highway.

Unplug it and then disconnect your negative battery terminal for a few min then plug battery back in and should be good to go if it was the PC

Do this. It's recommended every time you install/uninstall PC.

Had something like this happen when I had the PC installed. The PC caused a condition where both the brake and the throttle were pressed down at the same time. Once I removed the PC, my truck performed properly again and I was only left with an error code that I needed to clear. I got a replacement unit and simply sold it as I didn't want to deal with it again. Not sure if you had a similar experience. I do have a manual so maybe that's why I was able to get going again?

    Any error codes?
