I actually want a mode where it closes the throttle body as fast as it can. When crawling down a hill in 4lo, I like to use engine braking, and having that 1 second delay between letting off the pedal and actually getting engine braking makes it more difficult to control. Such a mode wouldn't be ideal for regular driving, but would be nice to have in certain slow-speed off-road situations. I do get out to LA from time to time. I'll be in Baja late december early january and could come through camarillo on my up or down.

So I've been using it a lot more now and I love this thing. Only thing I don't like is that in city mode, even though once I'm already driving everything feels super super smooth and the acceleration while driving is damn near perfect, the acceleration from a complete halt to moving again is a jump. I'll press the pedal, the vehicle jumps forward and then a tiny bit back afterwards before it starts going, then after that it's fine. But in sports mode the acceleration from a complete stop is smooth. How can I get the same initial acceleration (from a halt to moving) mixed with the awesomeness of using city mode. Because that right there would be the golden ticket

Hey Chase have you tried City maybe + 2 ? give that a shot.... try messing with + or - and see if you can get that dialed in.... when my Tech gets in I will go threw the graph with him and see if there are any peaks that we can dial in...

Ok I'll just wait and see what the tech says. It seemed like when I used the +, the acceleration and responsiveness all got better except the jump, and I like the sport modes initial acceleration because there's no jump but I don't feel like sports mode is as responsive or feels as good to drive as city mode

Well, it's a review thread in a sense, and the reviews are generally positive. I don't have anything to do with the company selling these, and only found it while searching for a way to make the throttle pedal on my new truck not so crappy. I like mine... makes the truck respond in a way that suits my driving style. If you hate the throttle by wire pedal in these trucks, then this might be worth it. If you're fine with it, then it's probably a waste of money. Not sure why people online are all up in arms about these things.

It's because everyone expected this thing to be a piece of shit. So if we went on here and said "yeah this thing sucks" everyone would've believed it, but since it actually works everyone's first though is "no way, these dudes have to be working for the company". No ones pressuring anyone to buy anything. I'm an infantryman, I have no relation to the product or company, I literally learned about it on tacomaworld just like everyone else and decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did because it's badass and fixes a problem that Toyota itself won't even fix

I do either +1 or +2 city mode. I have been using sport mode +1 all day and its nice but the rev hang is bothering me, might just need to tighten up my coordination. You have an automatic tho right? The only jumpiness I get initially is when im in city or sport with the +4 setting, the instant I tap the gas a tiny bit it just jumps bc 1st gear is so short.

As the OP, I was just looking for honest reviews of the product to help me in deciding whether or not to buy one. I'd never heard of the product or company prior to that. After hearing the positive feedback from those of you who have purchased and used the product, I've decided to buy one.

After the guy from the company showed up, I do get what you're saying. He's just doing his job though.

the question I have (and why I would only use this on autocross events and never public roads) is:

Does the maker of pedal commander have bona-fide evidence and certification that this will not ever
intefere negatively with a carmaker’s electronic throttle controls.
Is there any guarantee there will never be any unintended acceleration from defective equipment.

National Research Council and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has exhaustively tested
and passed what the Toyota has...stock. Any evidence they certified and passed the pedal commander
to route and modify the pedal input ?

Public roads and electronic throttle controls are not mere toys to be played with together, IMHO.
The ones who test this stuff are the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies for its
Study of Electronic Vehicle Controls and Unintended Acceleration.

If pedal commander 'shits the bed' will it be failsafe, or change the signal and make the vehicle unsafe ?
Will it interfere with the BTO system ?

You don’t command throttle anymore, you send a request and the ECU decides if it’s going to take any notice of what you’ve requested.
The pedal commander is now intercepting all those decisions. Has it been tested to the nth degree of scrutiny ? or just slapped
together in China with the required labeling that is won't start a fire, but no labeling or certification it is road safe and legal ?

    Just arrived.
Honestly was looking at the PC or Sprint Boost before this thread, the vendor offered a $40 incentive to try so why not (if I do not like it, looks like it can be returned) . Will report back after install.
    IMG_1053.jpg
    IMG_1054.jpg

Installed and drove around the block. Honestly it does what it is described to do. It changes the response.
In Sport mode + a few clicks up. I like the way it brings the truck up from a stop.

Put in eco mode and it feels like it "dulls" the response (I did not drive).

For the $$$, I am going to keep it for now (13 days left LOL).

I get 13 MPG or so as it is now (other truck gets 11), I do not plan on using eco mode, did not purchase to better mpg (Tacoma is not my daily).

Like a few of you guys have mentioned the REP of the Company should just reply to the questions asked and not engage. People will purchase or not based on feedback and reviews.

Another positive, found something to put in the stupid void the Toyota brain trust created! Updated today, flush mounted the PC control module
