I would rather use my booster than have to slam the pedal harder. I admit I don't know much about the mechanism itself, but I would think it would wear whatever bearings/bushings/springs are in the pedal assembly? Just a thought.

That video at 0.25x speed is...interesting. Particularly between about 9s and 12s. Around 9s the throttle body closes before any pedal movement, around-ish 10s,11s it opens *before* the pedal is pressed.

Sorry I don't have high quality video equipment that allows for capture at 1000fps for you idiots who refuse to believe the actual data. Capture was done at 12ish FPS for the throttle pedal due to low light.... Throttle pedal is being pressed multiple times per second this doesnt leave many frames to capture actual events.

If you guys really are this stupidly skeptical do yourself a favor, go out turn off / disconnect your pedal controller, pull your intake off and have someone in the cab do the same thing as you watch the throttle blade so you can see in person.

The video is meant to be a demonstration of how quick the throttle body actually opens and closes and responds to pedal inputs and it does exactly that. The throttle body does NOT exhibit the same behavior as people constantly reference in the start of this video

Look, friend. We get it. $300 is probably A LOT of money for you and nobody is telling you that you have to spend it.

I even liked your video post. It took you a week to get the family truck to yourself and you even borrowed your wife’s cam girl set up to record a shoddy vid for us to prove how the stock throttle only opens really fast when you smash on the pedal.

I’m still keeping my SB and I’ll recommend one to any 3rd Gen owners who want their truck to be a little more zippy without having to put their foot through the floor.

Now I see the difference! The sprint booster people have better camera equipment. That's why it works better on their video.

It's fine for different people to have different opinions, no problem, & congrats on the video, had to be quite a bit of trouble getting that stuff all hooked up...Still didn't see the need for any name calling. I can presume that if 90% of the folks that have tried the throttle controllers & know first hand, from experience, what they do are on one side & the other 10%, that have never tried one & have no first hand knowledge, only videos & charts, are on the other side. I wonder if name calling was in order which side would get the most comments about being idiot or stupidly skeptical... Also very happy I didn't make the decision to get mine based on your videos & charts, dang I'd still be as disappointed as I was the 2 1/2 yrs. I drove my 2013 Taco without it. In the end I'm glad everyone is happy with what they have, seems nd4spd is as happy not having one as we are having them. It's got to be a good thing when everybody is happy

The thread was started by a happy person and a bunch of happy people commented about how happy they were. Then we got told we were idiots and were provided a dog shit video as proof.

I was a little less happy. Then I got funny. Now I am happy again.

What proof? In the first three seconds of your video the throttle is delayed just like my truck. I’m not retarded, when I turn the SB on my truck’s throttle is more responsive.

I thought you wished me a good day but you’re obviously masturbating, waiting for notifications that this thread has more responses. “I SHOWED THEM. THEY’RE ALL SO DUMB. THEIR THROTTLES AREN’T MORE RESPONSIVE. I’M GONNA TELL ALL MY ROLLERBLADING FRIENDS ABOUT THIS ONE!”

The moral of the story here is; I don’t tell you what to do with your money so don’t tell me what to do with mine. Fuck off back to your creepy corner of the internet with your shitty videos.

You may or may not be right about the technical side of this, but your attitude sucks. These are the kinds of posts that get people to stop caring enough to go through the trouble of writing out a post or even going as far as making a video to make a point. :burp: Food for thought.

My video proves exactly what it set out to prove. That the throttle body can open quickly in stock form (unlike what the spirit booster video makes you believe). The "slowness" you see in the first 3 seconds is the stock throttle pedal to throttle body map which provides a muted pedal input for the first part of the pedal throw to make an easier driving experience. Your pedal commander / spirit booster does not change that, it does not change the coding of the ecu and how the throttle body opens. When you turn on your spirit booster it is meerly simulating you pushing on the pedal further to create a faux throttle response. I dont get why this is so hard to understand.

My attitude is great. I’m a sweetheart. I welcome new members even though it gets me no message points. I don’t use this place like Craig’s list. I respond to the “what lift should I get/will it rub? threads after snarky jerks crap all over the new guys with “read the manual!” Or “there’s a thread for that, learn to use the search bar!”

I was cordial from the beginning of my interactions with that dude. I told him I would respectfully wait for his proof even after he tried telling us we were dumb. He came into a pedal mod enthusiast’s thread and tried to prove he was the smart boy and failed. Now it’s just entertainment for me.

What makes my tach jump quicker? Is my tach bewildered by flimflam sales pitches?

I don’t want to put my foot to the floor to pass someone when I can move my foot a few degrees to get the same effect.

You’re missing the point. Your “entertainment” pushes away people who both are knowledgeable and willing to share.

    Noted.

Sorry to anyone who was turned away from discussing positive reviews, buyer-beware or constructive criticism of pedal mods.

HOWEVER, I wouldn’t go into a thread where the consensus about a product or concept is almost unanimously positive and try to tell that group they don’t know what they’re talking about because they don’t understand some technical minutia jargon. His video didn’t sway me away from anything, it didn’t prove anything except that pressing on the pedal faster will open the throttle blade faster.

If you’re not impressed with the throttle response in your stock Tacoma, research pedal mods and if you have a buddy that has a plug and play pedal mod, ask them to let you try it out. Your driving experience will change. It doesn’t fix everything I would like to change about mine but it definitely did what Sprint Booster says it will.

Test driving with one is all the data most people need .
Scientific facts ? I say a test drive should be included .
