Just wanted to pop in here to say thanks for posting this. I had considered one of these things for a while. I don’t doubt that they increase throttle response earlier in the range.

I was, however, fully unaware that mashing the throttle would create the same effect.

As I read the comments here I get the impression that the guys running these and enjoying them are satisfied because the throttle plate has a seemingly more linear actuation compared to throttle input without having to depress the pedal fully to get that effect.

Totally different story than mashing the pedal . When starting off so much nicer to just press a little during normal driving than mashing the pedal all the time .
As stated by some , earlier years with better response was much better than the latter sluggish newer one . Driving one and watching video different story in MY OPINION.
Up to the individual to decide . What ever one decide life is still good . In MY OPINION.
    Discussion are all good .

This is correct. 2012+ (or maybe 2009+ id have to look at stock tunes in hptuners) trucks have a less linear throttle map vs the older trucks (its why you will feel that the older 2nd gens are more peppy when its the same drivetrain). A bandaid is to use a pedal commander type product to simulate you pushing the pedal down further than you are sooner in the pedal throw.

I never said these products dont change things, but all they are doing is simulating one pushing down further on the pedal (or less in "eco" modes) than you actually are. It does not, as proved, make the connection between the gas pedal and throttle blade less laggy.

Fair enough. Although, half the fun of the internet is breaking up circle jerks . I don't expect that to change.

Appreciate the video. Y’all are arguing different points but the same point. People are looking to improve the linear feel of the pedal. That’s all. Yes, as you said it’s a bandaid or work around but if it makes the vehicle more enjoyable then the $$$ might be worth it. I plan to try one on the Camry to see if it will remove the dead zone in the pedal.

I must not have much to do, I've just gone thru all 206 posts on this thread. There were 24 pos. from folks that tried & liked them. There were 2 that had tried them but didn't like them, funny farm said his was too responsive & he couldn't get it backed down low enough, & Boomkanani said it was absolutely more responsive, but he felt he could do the same thing by pushing the pedal harder. 7 neg. votes, all from folks that have never tried one & 1 from a guy who first said he hadn't then next day said he had tried one, go figure. I tried to be accurate, but many here really didn't have an opinion & were looking for info. Nothing new in last few pages, just kind'f arguing back N' forth. Hoping those that think they may want one can find someone who has a vehicle with one already installed so they can try one. turn off to see orig. throttle then on through the 18 or more levels, so "you" can decide for yourself if it's worth it for you. Ace96, did you see the SB guarantee, return within 30 days for full, no question asked, refund. Good luck & keep us informed if you try one.

Im just going to point out that I never claimed to try one, never claimed to not like one, just wanted to point out what they ACTUALLY do so people dont spend 170-300 bucks on something without being informed.

So yea thats all I wanted was a more responsive pedal. Been happy with it . Had it since 2014 or so . No problems .Now if Hp tuners was available for our trucks yea I would probably have gone that route . Nice of JustDSM and nd4spdbh offer there tunes to TW . Cause I definitely wouldnt be able to do it myself . Computer illiterate lol.

It may be my imagination but it seems our videographer has moderated his comments some from a lie, does nothing and snake oil to simulating a full pedal press. Still wrong but it is movement. But as an idiot, I am probably wrong about that also. I am certain there is an excellent and convincing explanation.

Turn it off, drive it. Turn it on, drive it. If there is not a very noticeable difference in throttle response then I will admit to being an idiot, a dupe and a frivolous spender who should no longer have control of my money. Mrs JGO is filing a competency petition as I type.

Sorry nd4spd, I never meant to imply you said you had tried one, that was not you, it was dbbd1, he first said he wanted someone to give him one to try then he would give an honest review. Next day he said he had already tried one & didn't like it. I'm with JGO, I took your comments as neg., snake oil, idiots, stupidly skeptical just seemed neg. & made me think you didn't like them. I'm still thinking about the 2 guys that tried them but didn't like them. Funny farm said too responsive & couldn't get it dialed back low enough, Makes me think faulty unit, heck they all are adjustable from off & gradually up to way too peppy, most seem to think appx. 1/2 way is most comfortable. & Boomkanani who said absolutely more responsive, That's what I do like, but it didn't suit him & that's for him to decide. nd4spd, I sure wish you were close by, I'd love to let you drive my 2.7, 4X4, auto., while I was controlling the controller, I'd love to see what your response would be.... Main thing let's all be happy.

I was going to purchase the pedal commander through Amazon so had 30 days to try it out. That pedal on the Camry drives me and my wife nuts. Bad enough we joke one of us needs to get out and push.

So I just bought a pedal commander from the exchange here and I installed it today. Keep in mind this is only about 45-50 mins worth of driving on back roads and a short interstate drive. 100% noticeable difference, and it's clearly not just a "mashthe pedal more" type thing.

Mine is an 09 4.0 auto, with the PC off there's a definite pause between pedal and truck moving faster, no matter how hard I push. I didnt try the sport+ yet and only switched between the standard modes, no plus or minus yet.

City and Sport are close and both definite improvement over stock. Eco for sure limits things. I look forward to more experience with it.

Wanna give an update on this. Truck suddenly went into limp mode today. Luckily, I was in a parking lot and rolled into a stall. TRAC OFF and CEL.

Thought it was the battery/alternator at first cause the radio turned off, but then realized the truck was idling. Scratched my head for a little bit and the decided to turn off the truck and remove the PC. Fixed.

Got home scanned the code and confirmed it P2121

Im sure I didn’t accidentally change with setting while in motion, hands where on the wheel and shifter. Don’t know why this happened, but I’m done with the thing. If this happened on the trail it coulda been dangerous.

For what it’s worth, I drove around doing more errands and o really do miss the difference it made. ED54E8B1-90ED-458D-99EB-ABB3DE2DA671.jpg

How did you end up getting the plug cover off? I've tried multiple times and I cannot figure it out.

I think I had to break off one of the side clips because I couldn't get mine off either. It was a major PITA, I remember that.

I had mine go into limp mode once but it was shortly after I got it and I think I was doing something with fuses at the time. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled PC to the wire harness and never had an issue since.

Welcome jimbo, what kind of Taco you got? Sorry I did mine over 2 yrs ago & don't remember trouble getting mine unplugged and plugged back up. I was amazed how quick and easy it was. Let me say this, Follow instructions exactly. Something about removing the key and putting it 30' from the truck for 20 min. before starting. I have no clue, but wondering if this could be the reason a few folks have trouble with limp mode and warning lights. There's got to be something electronic is reason for this to be included in instructions. I've had mine over 2 yrs. and still all is great, no codes. Be sure to come back and give your opinion of the thing, we're always looking for opinions... Hey JGO, are you still around, Haven't heard from you lately, wondering if your controller is still OK.

I am still around and still happy with the Sprint Booster. I did have difficulty with the pedal plug, I attributed it to my old age and a loss of flexibility.
SB has similar instructions for installation. I followed those meticulously. The keys were in the house, about 25 yards away. I waited while I had a cup of coffee with the very lovely Mrs JGO. Then I went to work on it.
Two things I would do over without a second thought, Sumo Springs both front and rear. The second, if it was a four auto like what I have now, would be a Sprint Booster.
I have nothing against any other brand, I just have no experience with any other brand.
